The Reset Begins - Steven - Aug 27, 8pm EST — Thurs

Stephen Whitney, a Soma Breath instructor, led a 30-minute guided breathwork session teaching a three-phase technique: rhythmic nasal breathing, breath-holds with throat lock, and breath-holds with pelvic floor lock. He explained the physiology of CO₂ tolerance and oxygen saturation, noting that brief drops below 85% are normal and beneficial.

देखे ओ देना तुम्हारो चेहरा, देखे ओ देना विदलायन, देखे ओ देना पाके ओ देना विदलायन, विदलायन, देखे ओ देना तुम्हारो चेहरा, देखे ओ देना Hey everyone, I was planning to start on the hour, but the music's so good I thought I'd finish the track.
Is anybody against that? We do have a tradition tradition of dancing on some of these calls, so for those who want to, go ahead with your camera on.
Oh my God.
Here, a couple of you guys.
Lisa!
I wasn't planning to start with some music, but I was just on the Soma Breath app. I found this track. I thought this would be a beautiful way to start the session, but now let's get ready for the official part. Of our show.
That's right.
Ladies and gentlemen, a warm welcome, an unexpected welcome to our Breath Fest 2026 Summer Edition. And we had a chance to do a little bit of movement, which we usually do later in some of our sessions. But hey, I was feeling inspired, as I said, found this track. I thought that was a great track. Can I get everybody to test the react button if you've enjoyed the music or you have a reaction to that music? The react button is super fun to use on these Zoom meetings. We see these hearts going up, some claps and party, whatever is the emotion you want to express. It just makes it really fun and we all get to see it. And so definitely use that throughout the session if you're enjoying what you're going through. My name is Jason Mark Campbell. I am your host for most of the sessions we'll be going through on Breath Fest, representative here from Soma Breath. And boy, do we have an incredible festival lined up for all of you. We have instructors from around the world. We have attendees from all around the world. I know some of you are brand new to this. And speaking from around the world, well, let's go have a peek exactly where you guys are tuning in from. I've been seeing you comment already since we started the chat. I didn't even ask you, but I'm going to officially ask you now. Where are you tuning in from? Is it, is it Canada? I've seen a couple from Victoria, Canada, Austin, Texas, Iceland popping in. Let's, let's have a look at our little world map. So I'm seeing a lot of North and South America presence. If I'm zooming in here, we see a lot of East Coast Canada, US coming through. We got some Florida, Jacksonville. I believe that's some Daytona Beach area. We got what is this? Is this North Carolina? Some Charlotte looking around here. We're going on Louisiana. Even in the Midwest here, we got some good, some Chicago. We got some Seattle. Is that Oregon? We got some California tuning in. Some Alberta, I think popping in. So you have some peers tuning in from various regions. Mexico in the house. I believe we got— is that Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico? And oh, I gotta zoom in. Is that Jamaica in the house? Fantastic, good to see you. Costa Rica represented. Uh, what do we have here? Is this Cartagena? I believe that's Colombia. Is that Colombia? I hope it's Colombia. I'm not seeing the usual borders, so I'm feeling a little confused here. No, was that— yeah, Medellín is here. I'm pretty sure that was Colombia. All right, we got Ecuador, we got Brazil in the house. Very cool. Uruguay coming in. Good to see you. We have yet to see— is anybody from Africa? South Africa, Morocco in the house, good to see you. All right, in Europe, what do we got here? We got Spain in the house, the UK. I believe we got France. We have right next to Denmark— is that Sweden on the border there? We got Italy, Greece. We got the Middle East tuning in. We got, uh, I believe that is Israel in the house. We got Muscat. I believe that's in Oman. Could be, and if I am mistaken, I do apologize. What do we have here? India, I think it's Bangladesh, New Delhi. We got Sri Lanka. Asia is represented. I often don't see people in Asia, but we are at a morning time zone, so definitely is much more convenient. Hong Kong, welcome. Philippines, welcome. Bali, Indonesia. Jakarta, welcome. And our friends in Australia. Can I give a particular shout out to the Australians? We usually do these sessions at times that are so difficult for the Australians to join unless they join at two in the morning. It's good to see you in good numbers, and we are happy that Breath Fest is going to have some sessions that you get to tune in from every part of the world. Breath Fest— what is this all about? Well, we come together with our community of Soma Breath instructors. We continuously bring amazing instructors to learn how to deliver incredible breathwork sessions, and we give them a chance to showcase their best sessions for you. For absolutely free where we come together as a community and give you what we feel is going to be the most pressing type of sessions for the current times. We're going to do something a little interactive here. So let me ask this question. Get yourselves ready in the chat. This is going to be a bit of an interactive part. You're going to think of a word. I want you to think of a word that represents the current times right now. What is the word that is the mood, the essence, the energy? And look, maybe it's something positive. Maybe it's something negative. But whenever—
boom!
Look at that, we got chaos that came in big. Um, all right, let's see. We got some peace, some earthquake, changing, confused, burnout, flow. We got some peaceful, we have some changing, some turbulent, transformative, uh, uncertainty. Moon. There is moon. Yeah, it's spinning, but it also brings different waves and ebbs and flows. Joyful, calm, scary. There's a lot of this stuff coming out. If you guys are repeating the word, it gets a little bigger. So you can see the ones that are kind of coming up. I'm seeing chaotic, chaos, challenging, uh, coming up big, rough, peaceful, and peace also there. Love wants to grow. And look, whatever emotion you're coming into this session, it could be a positive emotion, a negative emotion, or a negative, a neutral emotion. What we're here to do is one thing, which is how can we raise the vibrational energy, right? The level of vibrational energy, which also stands for love. Level of vibrational energy. It's one of the things we do here at Soma Breath, and you're definitely going to be experiencing that today because throughout Breath Fest we're looking at, hey, how do we get together with music, breathwork, together as a community to soothe the nervous system? We're calling it the end of the summer break with a little moment that you get to enjoy some sessions that are going to be experienced, giving you the chance to experience The powers of breathwork, which brings me to another interactive part I'm going to do here. Let's, uh, let's just have a look at who's here. I feel like a lot of you are here for the very first time to experience a Soma Breath session. If you've never done a Soma Breath session, type 1 in the chat. If you're a regular Somi, you breathe, you join our Breathe Together Sundays every week for free. Maybe you already have the Soma Breath app and you practice. Maybe you have a ritual, or perhaps you've done it once or twice, but you're trying to build that, that, that habit. And that's okay. You are here. This is where habit starts. It's day zero. And it starts from here. And of course, we have a ton of our instructors here representing, and I'm going to do a call out for all of our instructors. Rename yourself in the chat while you're here. You can click on your participant name. You can rename and just put your name, first name, dash instructor or transformational coach or advanced instructor. That way, if you're answering any questions that people ask, people will know that it's coming from the instructors. If we see it's a technical question that's coming in, fair enough. So take a moment, instructors, to do that. And for the 72%, 71% of you who are new to Soma Breath. Um, welcome. A couple things you're going to expect from going through this Breath Fest is you're going to be feeling amazing. Like, we have this whole idea that when you're going to be doing Soma Breath session, you will get high. And we're not talking about taking substances to change your state. We're talking about elevating your state using something that is perfectly natural, scientifically validated, and has been put into the textbooks of ancient wisdom, the pranayamas, about how you can use the breath to really make a change in your state. So expect to have something incredible happen to you if you do one of these sessions, but truly magic will happen if you're with here this entire week. We have 6 sessions that are coming up. They all have a theme, and we know you're going to walk away from doing one of these different things that are really going to take you to the next level. So if you've experienced some level of breathwork, we're hoping to expose you to some new technique. And if you're brand new to this whole thing, be ready. You'll be well guided. You're going to have an incredible time, and I'm going to introduce some of the sessions that are coming up for the week. First off, I'm going to be giving a proper introduction to our next speaker, but we're going to start with A Reset Begins. This is the perfect way to start, and I'm going to give you some more details on this upcoming session right now. But over the week, we're going to have— tomorrow we're going to have Brooke talking about Unwrapping the Greatest Gift: Presence, how to use breathwork to bring presence with Brooke. We're going to have Breathe First: You Choose the Reality You Live In. If you're looking to manifest, Claudia is going to be coming in, one of our master instructors. and teaching us how to be able to become empowered to choose our own reality, to change our state. David's coming in about becoming a magnet, an abundance reset. Who's looking for more wealth and abundance in their lives? You can type in me in the chat, and you're going to be definitely getting some of this during the session when you use breathwork to instill the beliefs you need to bring abundance into your life. We're going to have a deep release with Lisa, a powerful session to release any kind of emotions, stuck emotions And finally, Niraj Naik, the founder of Soma Breath, is going to close off with the From Reset to Ritual. All of these sessions are going to be powerful resets, and we're going to close the whole thing about how to go from making a reset, all the beautiful things that are going to happen through this weekend, you're going to turn it in. How can this become a ritual? Something that is a tool on your belt that lives with you and continues to grow with you as you've unlocked this new tool. All that to look forward to. And the last thing I'm going to do here is just make sure a link that I want you all to save. Nobody type into the chat right now. Don't type anything. Don't type anything. Don't type anything. I'm going to put a link. Everyone click on that link and save it because I know the questions you're going to ask, which is exactly what the last person Roberta just asked was, will there be replays of the missed sessions? Absolutely. You will definitely have access to the replays. And that link I just shared with you right there is the link where you can find how to join the live session that's coming up. So this is the link you would have had to come here to join on Zoom and to even add it to your calendar. And as you continue on this page, every future session is here and you can go and add them all to your calendar right now. Lucas knows how these events go. Everyone always asks, is there going to be a replay? The answer is absolutely yes. There's another question that usually comes up on these sessions. What is the other question that most people have? Now you can type it into the chat. We know it's going to be recorded. What is the second biggest question you need to ask when you're on a live webinar like this? It's a beautiful, relevant question, and if it hasn't been asked yet, I'll tell you right now. You need to know how long this is going to be. We aim to be done within the next 75 minutes. So from the start, so 15 minutes past the hour is the max that I think this session is going to go. So make sure you're undisturbed. If you can be at your desk, you would be preferred to be sitting down, present, undisturbed, maybe laying down for some of you who might want to go ahead and experience some of the session laying down. That is up to you. You're going to get some of these indications from the instructor, but make sure you're undisturbed. 75 minutes is the time we're spending maximum together today, and we expect that throughout the sessions for the whole week— or weekend, rather. And I believe these are the major announcements that I wanted to confirm. If you guys can take a moment in the chat, just type in 1 if this all makes sense, you're ready to go, and I can introduce the speaker so you guys can get started with your first breath session. Just type in a 1 in the chat, and I know we are ready to roll. And with that, I want to take a special moment to introduce the person to kick off our Breath Fest. Now, this is a very special friend of mine. We get a chance to work together in Bali, Indonesia, where he has relocated. He was there at the beginning of it all. Stephen Whitney is someone who's taken the concepts of Soma Breath by becoming an instructor himself and has built the DNA of how do we certify our instructors moving forward. If you're— any of you going in through the instructor program, you have seen his face before. He was our patient zero, the man who started taking the practices that Niraj was doing and making them a template for others to replicate and be successful as breathwork instructors. He is now opening up a Soma Breath Lab in Bali where he gets to work with people when it comes to their breathwork experience or their business scaling that they want to do as instructors. And he's going to be the one that is going to be there at our retreat happening in Bali this November, which is going to be a beautiful transformational experience for those on a path to become instructors and want to combine it with a beautiful transformational experience in the process. So if any of you want to come to Bali and are thinking of becoming instructors, we're going to talk more about that at the end. But one of the best things about Stephen is the fact that he is the instructor I had my very first breathwork session with Soma. And let me tell you this, by the end of this session, I was buzzing. I had ideas flowing through me, and it just got me into a state shift that I had never experienced before. And I know that you're all about to have the same experience right now with Stephen, the one and only breathwork master. Stephen, welcome. We're excited to get started and the floor is yours.
Wow, what a— what an introduction, I would say. No, I really appreciate it, man. And, uh, yeah, it has— it's been a— been a pleasure to be able to work with you and to be in Bali. Um, Jason, he really pours his heart and soul into the community aspects and doing everything he can to uh, create the most positive experiences for all of you. So just to throw it right back at you, Jason, I appreciate everything you do, uh, and it really has been a pleasure to get to know you. I feel I can call you a friend and also a mentor. I learn a lot from you, so I appreciate it.
Much love, brother. Um, hey, before you start, I did want to ask you one question because for a lot of people, their whole background have been maybe in, you know, personal growth. Uh, they've done this their whole life and they keep adding some modality. What I find particularly interesting with your story is you're someone who worked with their hands before you worked with the breath. And I'd love for you to take a moment to just share, you know, what was that transition like and what drew you into becoming the instructor you are today?
Well, mine actually was quite interesting. I mean, I was a construction worker my whole life, self-taught building engineer, um, and it was an unfortunate circumstance in my family. My mother passed away, uh, The doctors gave her an incorrect application of a very basic level pharmaceutical, and 2 weeks later, all of her organs shut down. She passed away. And, it was through that that I decided that I wish that there was something I could have done to help her, to support her, to make it where she didn't even have to be on a medication. And, that drove me into moving to Thailand and dissecting everything holistic. And the reason I'm telling you this, guys, is because our lives are full of unexpected moments and experiences. And each one of those experiences, we have a choice. We always have a choice on which direction we want to go, how we want to approach it. I think all of you can relate to unfortunate circumstances that we didn't ask for, we weren't prepared for, we didn't want. But those moments can really redirect the trajectory of your life. If you use it as a tool to listen, to observe, and if it makes you feel good, you go for it. Like, little did I know that I would become a breathwork instructor. I actually hated breathwork, to be honest. I used to go to rebirthing sessions and I despised breathwork. I thought it was the dumbest thing I'd ever, ever experienced. You want me to breathe? People are screaming, they're laughing, they're crying. And I thought, get me away from this. And then I accidentally ended up at a session with Niraj, and I tried to leave. This is before Soma was an organization, and I tried to leave. I didn't want to be there. My partner at the time forced me to stay, and that session changed my entire life. I was in a dark, dark place, fully depressed, like even as far as like suicidal flashes, and I'm training in holistic health. But the moment I gave myself time, presence. I aligned the functions in my body, which is very much one of the main core outcomes of doing a Soma Breath session. When you align those internal pieces and parts, you can find clarity. You can hear that positive noise and direction that is usually clouded from chaos happening in our lives. I saw a lot of chaos in the expressions. And then follow that, follow your passion. And what I found out is it always works out. Everything always works out, even though it doesn't go the way we want or expected. In the end, it always works out. So me randomly staying at that session of the modality that I hated, breathwork, and then got introduced to a completely different approach, it changed my life. And that was over 8 years ago, and I haven't stopped. So guys, regardless of your background, what you've done, whether it's working with your hands, social working, people, nursing, anything at all, use these moments of breathing, these events, to listen to how your heart sings and what directions it's telling you to go. And then go for it. Make that positive impact in the world and share things like this. And you'll be, you'll be very happy that you did for many different reasons than just the action.
I didn't know the full story about this, Stephen. This is the first time I hear it. So I openly asked this, and thank you for sharing. I think it's so inspiring to see the journey that you've taken. And quite frankly, I'm ready to breathe. So I'm going to pass it to you. The floor is yours. Who else is ready to breathe with Stephen? This is the moment you can use the react button, and I will pass on the baton. And you are in for a treat. Stephen, take it away.
Amazing. So that's one thing I do want to touch on before we go into this, because this is releasing the noise of the summer. And I saw so many comments that you guys shared about certain emotions— chaos, stress, distraction, transition, evolution in yourself. And I believe emotions are really just an energy in motion. They all have a place, they all have a purpose, but we generally identify with an emotion. Sadness is tears, anger is fists, fear is to hide. But if we can disidentify with the identification of that emotion, then we can use it to project us forward into the things that we want, finding out what those things are, making those transitions. And over the summer, I was really, I was really happy about this, uh, this session, um, because I've never guided one like this. And I don't prepare for my sessions. Um, it's a method that I've created years ago, um, but it's really about me connecting with my own experiences so that the guidance becomes relatable to all of us and that we can all relate to moments of chaos. And releasing the noise from the summer, this is a way to reset, to get back on track, realign, to connect with the chaos or the things that happened. And now let's transmute it into a higher power, into a higher frequency that then propels you to move into the next season and the next, you know, few months or phase. It's always important to To become present, to slow down, take a second, reflect, and make changes or actions, thoughts, beliefs, whatever it is you need to move forward in the next phase of your life and continue doing great things. So that's exactly what we're going to go through today. What I do want to make sure that you're doing right now is get into a safe space. Okay, so sitting down or lying down, make sure there's no sharp objects around, um, nothing that could hurt or harm you. I want— comfort is key. You want to grab a little cozy pillow or a nice blanket, turn the lights down low, light a candle, whatever's going to make you feel super relaxed, calm, and safe. I encourage you to do it. Okay, let me cover the— there, I'm sure there's, there's quite a few people here that are new to this, so let me explain the actual technique. It's very simple. Okay, it's going to be a 3-phase process. You'll have rhythmical breathing, removing all the air from your lungs and holding your breath out, and then holding your breath in. Okay, the rhythmical breathing is always in through the nose and out through the mouth. It's smooth, connected, it's rhythmical. There's no force or tension. And I really want you to make sure that you're breathing into your diaphragm, breathing into your belly. Okay, so in through the nose, out through the mouth, breathing into the belly. No force, no tension. You'll be guided when to breathe in and when to breathe out in the music, so you don't have to worry or think about that.
Okay.
Now, when instructed, you're going to take a full breath in and then a full breath out. And it's here you remove all the air from your lungs and you hold. Okay. And you're going to hold your breath out for as long as you can. All right. I encourage you to maybe drop your chin a little to your chest, creating this beautiful throat lock, and you're going to feel this urge to breathe. Override that urge. Okay, it's just the mind. It's just the internal noise telling you you need to take a breath in, but you can override that. Okay, now if you can't hold your breath out for any longer, but you want to go deeper, what you can do is take a short sip in and exhale out fully again and hold and keep overriding that urge to breathe. And I'll guide you through this. Okay. Now, when you can't hold your breath out any longer, and when I instruct you in the music, you're going to take a full breath in, filling up your lungs, and hold. You'll lock your root, your pelvic floor muscle, okay? If almost like if you had to use the toilet really bad, you pull up on that muscle, hold your breath in for around 30 seconds, exhale, and return back to your normal breathing. And we'll go through this cycle multiple times, okay? Okay. In through the nose, out through the mouth, rhythmical breathing, removing all the air from your lungs and hold with no air. Override that urge to breathe. When you can't hold it any longer, deep breath in, hold, locking your root, and then you'll exhale and relax. Okay? Does that make sense to everyone? Thumbs up. Give me some reactions. Give me some reactions. Thumbs up, hearts. I see a lot of people already laying down. They're like, come on, let's go, let's go, let's go. But don't worry about it, okay? I don't want you overthinking this. I'm going to guide you through it. All right. Now, if any of you are pregnant, you want to refrain from doing the breath retention. If you have any serious heart condition, had a recent surgery, or any serious medical conditions, I want you to not push this. Be mindful of your breath retention. And smooth and listen to your body as we flow through this. Okay. Beautiful. All right, everyone, sit back, relax. And I want you just to enjoy this journey as we're going to begin this session on releasing the noise from the summer. Go ahead and close your eyes if you haven't already. Have a moment to just become aware of the natural rise and fall of your breathing as it enters in. In and out.
In and out.
Have a moment to observe the quality of your thoughts, that internal noise. Is it distracted thinking about jobs, responsibilities, or are you able just to observe it without any attachment, without any force or control? Take a smooth, deep breath in. Exhale and just relax. So many things happen every day of your life. Family, friends, your job, television, social media. There's so much noise. Has there been some noise over this last season that took you away from a part of yourself, distracted you? Unexpected project at work, argument with a friend. Maybe this has something to do with your family or where you're trying to go in your career. Transformation starts with awareness, so become aware as we begin releasing the noise. Let's begin breathing in a rhythm. Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth. Smooth, connected, rhythmical breathing.
Make sure you're breathing into the belly.
Connecting with yourself, connecting with your breath as you find this perfect rhythm of inhales and exhales. You have the choice to change the things that you do, to make conscious decisions. So what noise are you clearing from your mind and your life right now?
2, 3, 4, 5. 2, 3, 4, 5. 4, in, 2, 3, 4, out, 2, 3, 4, in, 2.
This noise can be distractions.
Out, 2, 3, 4.
The idea that you need to carry the weight of everything on your shoulders. What can you remove to allow more clarity to come into your life. Begin clearing out the noise. Are you beginning to feel lighter, more aligned, as you clear the noise on each exhale? And if the noise increases, the thoughts begin to wander, just come back to your breath.
Yes, we've speeded up the breathing, breathing into the belly and really Pulling in this product.
If you want to begin creating a new noise, feel free to make a sigh of good feelings on your exhale.
Ah. Out, 2, in, 2, out, 2, in, 2, out.
We can't control the things that happen in our life, but you can control how you react to them, which ones you allow to influence you, your mind, and your life.
In, 2, out, 2. In, 2, out, 2. In, 2, out, 2. In, 2, out, 2. In, 2, out, 2.
Becoming more and more aware of the noise. The noise of I'm not good enough. The noise I can't be successful. I need to do more. These are distractions. Now let's all take a deep, full breath in. And now exhale fully, removing all the air from your lungs, making a little sss sound at the end to remove all air, and hold. Feel that stillness.
Ooooooh.
Becoming very clear in this moment of what noise is really holding you back. This shows up in so many ways. Not enough acceptance, self-love, image, belief, trust in yourself. They're just distractions. Quieting this noise lets the true essence of you begin to rise up, and you can connect with this. Override that urge to breathe. Keep holding your breath out. Go beyond that comfort zone. If you need to, you can take a short sip in and exhale fully again and hold. As you quiet this noise, it allows space for what you want to come into your life. Hold it just a little bit more, a little bit more. You can do this. And when you're ready, you can't hold your breath out for any longer. And I invite you to take a deep, full breath in. And hold, locking, pulling up on your root, your pelvic floor. And as you rise this energy up, I want you to feel a light rising up from your spine into your midbrain. This is cleansing you. It's quieting that noise. It's giving you the space. The opportunity to invite what you want in, the noise that you want, the noise that supports you in your life, your dreams. And now exhale. Just return back to your normal breathing as we start to create positive noise. Remember, in through the nose and out through the mouth. No force, but breathing deeply and fully.
In, two, out, two. In, two, out, two. In, two, out, two.
We can't escape noise. It's part of our life, this human experience. But you can create noise that you choose. So what internal noise do you want to create today? That you want to create right now, using and supporting the power of your breath. The noise that you are limit. Your body can transform. It can heal. That you deserve love, to be loved, and that you're ready to share love. What is it for you? Really pull it in with each breath. Yes, keep breathing, keep breathing. Now begin to expand on this thought. Expand on this feeling that you're generating of the new direction that you're going, the noise, the thought that you're inviting in. If it's self-love, I want you to expand on it. Make that so big. That noise is your focus to make a positive Make a positive impact in the world. And look at how big of an impact you will make.
Make it big.
Make it noisy. Make that positive noise so loud. In this moment, you're creating change. You're changing the trajectory that'll take you into tomorrow and the next day. Root yourself in this. Make it loud so you make sure you. Hear it on the inside. Everyone is breathing together in this moment. We're using this collective energy to rise above, to go And now take a deep, full yogic breath in and hold it at the top. Just hold it at the top for a moment. Feel that stillness, that quiet. And now exhale fully. Remove all the air from your lungs and hold. Make an influence in this change that you are inviting right now by seeing the change already mapped out. You took the chance with your work and your business. You're receiving more abundance. You look at yourself differently. Begin to see this noise turning into a symphony, and your life is unraveling the way that you wanted it to because you took the time. To create a change, to change the noise. Overriding that urge to breathe.
Go deeper.
Go farther. Is there a moment or a feeling inside of inspiration, excitement? Remember, our emotions are just energy in motion. So I want you to connect to that emotion that you have. I want you to harness it, hold it. If you need to, you can take that short sip of air, exhale fully again, and hold. I want you to nurture that feeling, that emotion.
Hold it.
You can transmute this. If it's fear, if it's anger, I want you to direct it towards your drive, your passion. When you can't hold your breath out for any longer, we're going to transmute this emotion and use it to propel you forward with your new noise. I'm going to use my new noise to propel me forward. And what lies ahead for you. So if you can't hold your breath out for any longer, when you're ready, then take a deep, full breath in, filling up your lungs, and hold. Lock your root and rise up that energy. Begin to see a swirling light coming up your spine As you begin to transmute whatever emotion you're connecting to, connecting it to the new noise that fuels how you look at yourself, how you feel about yourself, and what you will do moving forward. Rise up that energy. Feel the change. See the change happening in real lifetime right now. And when you're ready, just gently exhale.
Ah.
And you can just return back to your normal breathing. You have such a big influence of your life, your ability to adjust conscious thought, to have decision, to be able to make a choice or even a change. Men and women can create life, which means each one of you are gods and goddesses, and this life is a miracle. You can release the noise. You can change the noise. You can invite In noise. You can turn the noise down. You can turn the noise up. Do you see how incredible your life and your ability to live it is? So just take this moments of stillness to connect with that new noise and how it's going to pan out moving forward for you, how it's going to positively help you, support you. See it as if it's already happened. It's done. It's created. It's been achieved. It's been let go. And just enjoy these moments. You are guided. And supported always.
Remember this. Remain present. Remain still.
Observe the energy, feelings, sensations moving through your body. Just be curious and observe them as if you were a child experiencing it for the first time. How good does it feel to be you, to be in this body? Now, wherever you are right now, just begin slowly coming back. Wherever you've journeyed, just slowly start coming back. Coming back to the present, coming back to the body.
Maybe give—
have a big stretch. Maybe give yourself a hug. Take all the time you need. The simple act of showing up today for this experience shows a lot about you. So congrats, congratulations to all of you for being here, for being a part of this, for trusting in me to guide you through it.
That's— yeah.
Special. That's why, that's why I wake up in the morning. And I want to take a moment to recognize all of you. It's not as easy as we sometimes think to make change, to show up for something like this. There's like so much resistance in certain ways, but you showed up, and that is making a change. So if you were able to show up today, imagine what other things you can change or influence in your life in the way that you want. So celebrate yourself. I know I am. I'm celebrating all of you. So thank you all so much for being a part of this. And I would love to know, actually, um, let's use this chat for what it's, what it's meant for. Unless, Jason, you're gonna do a— are you gonna do like a poll? I would love to see how everyone's feeling. Can you?
Well, first I want to say a big thank you to you, Stephen. But yes, I'd love to see anything that's coming up Whatever it is you're feeling, sharing a few words. We're going to look at the comments coming through the screen, see the things that are coming up. Of course, a lot of gratitude coming up. Um, I see what Christina's sharing here, sharing that I had to go through resistance first, but then it got good with the energy bit. Would you expand a bit more about that? Is that a typical pathway, Stephen?
I'm sorry, I was responding to someone's comment. Can you repeat that?
Yes, it was basically someone feeling the resistance initially, and then in the energetic part, it started flowing much more.
Well, yeah, I mean, our breath is part of the autonomic nervous system, so it runs on autopilot and it's going to be subservient, conducive to our external environment. And our external environments are a sea of stress hormones. So the body doesn't like change. It wants to feel safe and comfortable. And because we're conditioned to breathe incorrectly due to our stressful environments that we live in, When you start to align the body, the body's like, "No, this is different. This is different when we breathe in that way," and it wants to resist it. But because the session is designed with balanced rhythmical breathing to specifically designed music in a certain rhythm, then you start to balance the nervous system, and the body starts to become more conditioned and says, "Okay, this is actually quite nice," which is why it's really important to. Do your best to embody as much of a regular breathing practice as you can. Same thing, you go to the gym once a week and expect to have, you know, lifted glutes and six-pack abs. It doesn't quite work that way. And our breathing is the same. But once you make the transition and you can recondition the body, then the body's going to breathe correctly on autopilot. So really do your best to embody a Pretty much as much of a daily routine practice as you can. That's where you're really going to see just phenomenal results.
Awesome. Well, I'll ask for Monica on the team. By the way, you guys can say hi, Monica. She's part of our support team. She'll be along with the whole Breath With experience as well. If it's possible to post a link for people to get the app. To get the app would give them a chance to build that practice when they download it. I know there's some training course that's available for free as well called the Breathworks Challenge. And when you go through that, it actually gives you a chance to learn about, well, what's happening to the oxygen levels. And this was a question I think you took the time to answer already, Stephen. Somebody with their oximeter saw the level go down below 80. So could you share a quick— for the rest of anybody concerned around oxygen level drops and the difficulty in the breath retentions?
Yeah, so one, it's, it's normal to have difficulty with breath retention. Okay. Again, our bodies are conditioned to have very shallow breathing. And so when we have shallow breathing, we remove a lot of carbon dioxide. And so when you hold your breath out, you build up carbon dioxide. So the body has no tolerance usually for CO2 levels or a rise in them. So the more you do it, the easier it becomes. Okay. Now for the 80%, Actually, you do not. The key here is that we become hypoxic. Most everyone's at 97, 98, 99 oxygen saturation level, but you want to become hypoxic. This creates what's called the Bohr effect and moves oxygen from your red blood cells into your muscles and tissue cells, the trillions of cells that need it the most but usually don't receive it, right, due to the way that we breathe. So once we get below 85%, we become hypoxic, and this beautiful trigger of changes in our biochemistry and physiology happen, which is called the Bohr effect. And that happens 85% or less. So 80 is actually a bit high. I mean, I've seen people get down into the 40s and 50s. Okay? So it's not about how low you go. It's about, do you go back up? If you don't go back up, now there's an issue with transfer of oxygen in the body. Like, and it's also a medical term of COPD. Um, it's like chronic low oxygen. But as long as it goes back up, don't worry about how low you go. It's more about how long you stay there, right?
Mm-hmm.
So that's why we encourage you to override that urge to breathe. And the more that you practice it, the longer you'll be able to stay in that state and receive longer and more of the incredible beneficial results.
Beautiful. Stephen, uh, I know you're a wealth of information. You're a core instructor in our trainings as well. And for anybody who would like to connect with Steve, I'm going to take a moment to post your Instagram, and I'm going to encourage everyone to go and check out Steve's Instagram. He does a ton of training with existing instructors and new instructors. And for those who are looking to potentially come to our Bali retreat. He is going to be one of our instructors there, and there's a ton of additional sessions that Stephen's going to be leading for people who are looking to enhance how to get more clients, how to build your business when it comes to lightworkers, particularly those who are breathwork instructors. Is there anything else you'd like to share for those who are connecting with you, what they could expect when they connect with you? I feel like they should be reaching out to you, sending you a message. What else should they know?
Well, just follow me on Instagram, and I connect with every single follower. And I just want to get to know you and see where you're at, what's going on. I have a very large network of instructors. So whether you're working on your own personal journey, I can direct you with the right type of instructor that can really help support you in that. If you guys are looking to become instructors, you definitely want to check out that page because the whole page is nothing but facilitator tips, how to feel confident guiding sessions, how to build relationships with potential clients, how to build workshops, events, sessions. It's just a hub for me sharing my almost 10 years of experience in guiding you to make a positive impact in people's lives. And if you don't know how to do, do these things that are the key aspect of building, growing a business and becoming a confident facilitator, then you're not out there helping people. And I want to bridge that gap for you. So same thing, the Bali training is coming up on November 1st, and it's going to be electric. It's a magical, magical island and 8 days, incredible live training. You're going to get a ton of experience. And then following that, I'll be opening for the very first time the Facilitator Lab. And that's more of a loose kind of hangout with other instructors, but we're going to go really deep on all the different aspects. Um, that are really important to building, growing, and sustaining a business as a coach or a facilitator. So just in this, this winter is going to be electric. It's so much cool stuff that's happening and a lot of amazing resources and support, but no one knows if you need that unless you reach out and make it, make it open. So Don't ever be afraid to send me a message. I have hundreds of messages going on right now. It's what I love to do is to connect with other facilitators.
Yeah.
Awesome. Well, Stephen, I'm going to bring up a bit of a word thing with everyone. So if you guys remember at the beginning, we started talking about what was the dominant kind of feeling. I'd love to close the session with having everybody share a one-word response of your current state. You've done the breathwork, you've experienced. So a one-word of what is our current state as we are now finishing the session. And it sounds like people's state is website again. We're gonna give a chance for people to add your one-word state, and we're gonna see what is the dominant emotion that has followed the session. And what we've discussed at the beginning, a promise that we had made, is how we get to raise the vibrational energy and how do we make sure that we get— no matter where you're starting from— to get you into a state that's just a little higher? And how do we rapidly bring those results? Well, through this beautiful journey that was about, I believe, just over 30 minutes, I can see that calm, relaxed, peaceful, peace, hope, aligned, present, clear mind, energetic is what has come through. And so I believe that we have been able to accomplish our mission for the kickoff session of our Breath Fest. It's been an incredible journey. Once again, now I want to switch it up to some words of appreciation for Stephen. Thank you so much for kicking off the session. As usual, an incredible session to start this off with. You can use those react buttons right now if you want to send some love over to Stephen, as we're going to go ahead and close this. We did promise to finish within 75 minutes. And so for those of you who are here, I want to walk you on what to expect next. And so with that being said, we've just completed The Reset Begins, a powerful kickstart with Stephen Whitney. Next up, we're going to have the one and only Brooke Avsar, who's going to come here talking about unwrapping the greatest gift presents. This will be starting at 9 AM Eastern Time on Friday. And so for those of you in Eastern Time, that would be 9 AM, 6 AM on Pacific Time, 9 PM in Asia. And as for those of you in the UK, I know a lot of you had the question, well, what time is it in Europe? And so I'm going to use my nifty little time converting tool here called Google, which is 9 AM Eastern in UK is— and let's see, 2 PM UK, 3 PM rest of Europe. So we do expect that to happen, and we're going to be having it kicking off with Brooke. So can't wait to see you all get a chance to join that. I think our Europeans that have joined us have joined at quite a late hour, so I have a feeling most of them are going to be joining live for that session. Then we are going to have a link to the replay of this put into the page that I have shared earlier. So once again, I'm going to put the join link. We are going to send you emails right here. And so if you want to join in the middle of the night, we encourage you to join these sessions. I know some of you heroes are here I saw someone just chat saying they're in New Zealand. Christina Bingham, I see you. But we've just completed the reset begin. This page will refresh. You will have your next session, and you can already add it to your calendar, and we'll post up the replay as soon as it's ready. I don't know if it's already set. If so, I would be impressed, but it'll definitely be updated in the next few hours. And so super excited. The link has been posted so you guys have a chance to tune in here. And I wanted to ask before we leave For people that are here, I'm going to give you 3 options. Type 1 if you are complete, you've had your breath experience, and you're going to get a chance to join tomorrow, and you're looking forward to seeing the ones you can't join live to watch the replay. Type in a 1, and that is perfect. I would like to invite anybody who is curious about our instructor programs, you'd like to learn more of what does it take to become an instructor, type in 2 into the chat, and I'm going to invite you to stay just a couple more minutes if you're interested. I'll share you what is the next step to take. If that is something you want to do. And if you are someone who's just going to stick around because you're curious, you weren't considering becoming an instructor, but you want to hear what I have to say about it, type in 3 and you're welcome to stay as well. But what I do want to do is acknowledge everyone that is here to thank you for your time. We're excited to provide this. We're going to have 5 more sessions happening throughout the weekend. Started off very strong with Stephen, so make sure to connect with him. If you are 1 plus 2 plus 3, that's fine as well. And we want to make sure that we'll be starting on time.
A lot of energy. Brooke is excellent.
You're going to be having a good time. So for those who are complete, you are free to drop off. For those who are curious about the instructor program, I'll just spend the next 5 minutes telling you a little bit about the next step to take. Because as you've seen, we have Steven here who had a chance to lead amazing session. He was one of our first instructors. For those who are going through the instructor training process, you've seen his face. He's part of some of the core trainings. And what we do very well is we make our instructors very competent. Which makes them very confident, which makes them very successful. So we have an entire curriculum that we walk our instructors through so they learn the art of how to lead the breathwork session in a powerful way, give them the tools and the information on how to bring a group together to lead these sessions, from introducing the technique, making people feel safe, making sure that the counterindications are, are shared, understanding the science behind the breath, and taking them into further and further ways of developing journeys and ceremonies that can get people through deep transformations. If you're interested in going through that kind of process, we have an application process where we get to know a bit more— what is your intent for becoming an instructor? Because we want to know your why, because the power of your why often dictates how successful you'll be into the process. We want to have a vision and flow call with you based on that application where we get to know you better. We want to understand what are you looking to accomplish, where are you currently in your life, and does breathwork support you in whatever transition or enhancement in your current career you want to do, is this the right path forward? And we can give you some direction as to which pathways make the most sense. If it is a fit, we'll introduce you to the ways of you becoming either an advanced instructor or a transformational coach. And we have something very exciting that's in parallel with Breath Fest. It's for anybody who's ever wanted to do this, and you've wanted to be able to do this for a long time. Guess what? We're doing it at 20% off. And so our breathwork training, you get to apply now, and until the 4th of September. If you apply and book your call, you get a chance to enjoy a 20% off. I'll have Monica share the link to come to this page and learn more about the program. You'll get to hear some of the stories of the people that went through it. You're seeing some of the comments from instructors that are sharing their feedback. We have an incredible rating for the course, a lot of handholding that happens with mentoring that happens on a one-on-one basis. We have some online sessions, in-person sessions, and different levels that you can go to. So when you get to this page, you can read a bit more about it. We have some sample meditations if you want to experience some more. But the key thing here is when you go through this pathway, you're going to get a chance to apply. When you go through this, you add a few details about yourself so we get a chance to contact you. The second step after this is going to ask you why are you interested in the program, and please take a moment to just share. Are you looking— are you doing a career transition and you're exploring? Do you currently have a holistic practice as a yoga teacher, a coach, maybe a massage therapist? Whatever it is that you currently do is just give us a couple more details about where do you see breathwork fit. And if you don't know and you're just curious, at least open up with us so we can take the conversation where we can spend that 30-minute, 45-minute together to make the most of our time together to guide you into the right path. And if any of you would love to just get a chance to jump in or have some immediate question you would like me to, um, to answer, feel free to message me directly on the Zoom chat here, and I'll stay an extra few minutes to answer those questions and see what is going to be the best pathways for you. For some of you wondering where the prices start, the certification starts from $2,000, which will be discounting $400 at this point if you're doing 20% off. So you can start for $1,600, and we have programs where you go into a transformational coaching, maybe adding live event, that can go all the way to $6,500. So it depends on the pathway that makes most sense for you. And we do have payment plans available. So we'll meet you where you are financially, see the goals you're looking to accomplish, and even help you build a roadmap of how do you generate income.
How—
if it's replacing an existing income or enhancing your current practice, we're going to see where does this make sense, if it does make sense. And if we can provide you clarity and guidance through this call, whether you decide to join our programs or not, we will have served our mission to bring the power of the breath and see if we can guide you at least through a way of building your practice. practice. But if we can see you be guided in the right direction, you'll be in the good hands of our team and we'll make sure to give you the answers you're looking for. So the link will be shared into the chat, so have a look at that. You'll be taken directly into the page and we look forward to having a chat with you. The team will be ready to be able to support you. And something that you're asking here, Courtney, is there something you have to pay for every month for the soundtracks? So depending on the level of instructor that you join, we do include the license with BIG which is our Breathwork Instructor Global, which will be a monthly— sorry, an annual licensing fee, which is $250 a year. You'll have it included for the few months when you get started. This includes the new tracks that keep releasing, a chance for you to list your classes with Soma Breath, a lot of active guidance and tools and mentoring that happen. And so with that, as you're being successful as a coach, you can renew for, I believe it's $87 a quarter or $250 a year. And so the key thing is you get certified, and then if you see that this is something you've designed your lifestyle around, you want to keep having the tracks, we'll make sure that you get to be supported through our Breathwork Instructor Global. All of these get answered if you're going through the Vision and Flow call and you see yourself interested in becoming instructor. They'll walk you through exactly what that pathway looks like, what do the costs look like, so you can see exactly what the investment looks like and how you can generate income with that. So I hope that answers your questions. I'm going to go look here If there's any other questions that are coming on the instructor program, the easiest thing will be to go ahead and apply. When you go ahead and apply, I see that Monica on our team has shared that. I will put up a link as well. When you apply, you'll get a chance to book a call. There is some availability for the end of this week. And again, by booking your call now and applying now, you get to be eligible for the 20% off, which is the biggest sale we do on our programs. So definitely check that out. If you're an existing instructor, definitely apply and let us know what certification you already have. And we can see how we can actually add this methodology to your practice in the best way possible so we can complement whatever it is that you're doing as well. So with that, I believe this is the 75-minute mark that we did promise. And so I'm excited for tomorrow. We're going to have another session again with Brooke. We are starting at— let me just make sure I have this right— 9:00 AM Eastern time with Brooke. We're gonna have a beautiful session which is all going to be about presence. I can't wait to see you all get a chance to show up again. Make sure to connect with Stephen if you want to be part of the breathwork community. And we're excited that you got to experience your very first breath journey with Soma Breath. There were so many of you who were new. We're excited that you got a chance to do that. I'll stay a couple minutes here, see if there's any looming questions, but this will be the end of the core session. Much love, take care, and I will see you at 9 AM Eastern Time with Brooke kicking off our second of 6 sessions for Breathfest Summer 2026. Thank you so much. We are complete, but I'm still going to be looking at the chat and seeing who has some questions I can answer. And I see already some of you are getting your questions answered by Stephen in the chat. I also have a nice tool that I can look at and see if there's any questions that have come up. Let me just bring them up here and see Yeah, Courtney, we've answered that. Uh, I think Kazira, we have that. We've shared the pricing already. Um, I'd like to ensure there's time to get the questions on how to best do it because we cannot hold it this long, and I'm not clear if it was okay to breather with one holdout. Do we breathe and restart? Stephen, did you get a chance to answer Caroline's question here? Um, then we have time to answer a question about how to best do it when we cannot hold it.
I did.
But before being an instructor, it'd be good to— I'm sure we have time.
Oh, I think yes, you did answer this one as well in the chat, so fantastic. And I think, uh, yes, there is a lot of instructors in Australia as well. Actually, a lot of our instructors, they get a chance to be listed on the find.somabreath. So if I look into Australia, I can search on this tool And you can see I have some of my instructors already listed here. So I do have some transformational coaches like Paulina and Marcel. I have some advanced instructors as well as foundational instructors here. So there are some instructors if you look into here, like Paulina, about out in Sydney. If I have a look at her profile, you'll actually be able to see her credentials and get a chance to connect with her. And so if you have a session that you'd like to experience on a one-to-one basis, You can connect with Paulina here who works with nervous system performance for busy leaders and teams. So she does one-to-one corporate wellness and she has a few resources available here as well. So yes, we do have some people around the world that are available for breathwork. And how long is the breath hold off recommended? This is a question for you, Steve. I don't know if you're answering that one directly into the chat.
Now I can cover it really easily. The breath hold on the exhale, where you remove the air from your lungs, you want to try and stay in there as long as possible. Now the breath hold on the inhale, you get the physiological effects and benefits within about 30 seconds, give or take. So holding your breath in for as long as you can actually can have negative effects. It can lead to tension, muscle pains, headaches, So the breath hold in, no, 30 seconds or until comfortable, and then you can just exhale and return back to your normal breathing.
Awesome. And Diana, I'll put in the link there. If you've been doing soma breath and you're ready to see what it looks like to build a career out of this and generate some income doing this, then definitely come and apply, have a chat with us, and we'll be taking care of you. And I do believe we have completed a powerful session and answered all the main questions. So Ladies and gentlemen, I just want to say much love. Thank you. I will call it a night. I know some of you have tuned in very late today to be here, so get some rest. And if you're just starting with your day, I wish you the most beautiful of day. Hold on to the emotions that you've built and the foundation that you've benefited from the session with Stephen, and we will see you on the next Breath Fest very shortly.
