How do you think the fashion industry at large can better balance the need for, like, sustainability with the demand for affordable and trendy clothing, specifically from, like, younger consumers?
I think, well, we've kind of been seeing a shift already, but it's kind of resulting in more greenwashing. Like, brands like H&M, for example, they realize people are, like, prioritizing sustainability, so they started slapping on labels like This is eco-conscious. This one's not, but this one is. And so they're trying to differentiate themselves by doing this, but as a whole, they're still a very unethical company. And so in some ways, these big corporations are trying to like appeal to people that way, but they're really just kind of false advertising. One way that I think that they can actually help would be by simply slowing down, I guess.
