Identify what you actually need to improve first, whether that's decisiveness, hiring, or perspective. Then find a coach who has played the game at a higher level in that specific skill, not just someone with credentials.
Chapters
How do you find an executive coach as a founder? I think what it's really important to, to understand is what are the areas in which I need to grow to become a better founder, investor, human? Is it that you want to become someone who is more decisive? Are you super decisive and you're someone who needs to learn to slow down? Do you need to get really good at zooming in and zooming out? Maybe you really suck at hiring and you need to get better at assessing people. And I think this is true for all kinds of learning, but it's really important to work with someone who is better at the thing that you're trying to get better at, right? They should be at least theoretically qualified to play the game themselves and be better at the thing that you're trying to become.
