Speaker B credits architect Jean Prouvé and Carlo Scarpa for shaping their belief that natural beauty comes from good engineering. They also cite Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products as crucial to understanding how design influences user behavior.
What book influenced your trajectory most as a young adult?
I guess, like, you know, my background's in design. I always loved engineers who— there's like a balance between understanding that natural beauty comes from good engineering, simplicity comes from good engineering. So I've always loved Jean Prouvé as like one of my founding inspirations. But I also love like Carlo Scarpa. I could talk about architect stuff all day. I love the book Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products. I believe is the name.
Great book. Well, what were, what were some of the books that impacted your trajectory?
The Hard Thing About Hard Things is great. I just find people have just like done unbelievable things and like overcome challenges. And like you try, try to think maybe you're having a hard day and like a book that really puts context around like what is actually a hard day. Yeah. Phil Knight's Shoe Dog, I thought was an awesome read. Mm-hmm. I love the Andre Agassi book Open. I think, I mean, like, I think I finished that book in maybe like 3 days.
