A startup program chose rolling intake over cohort-based because they didn't have enough deal flow early on. Deal flow availability is the main factor that determines which model works.
How did you decide between going towards like a cohort-based model where all the teams come in and you do it seasonally versus on a rolling basis, you having teams come in?
So I think that the honest answer there is when we first started, you know, we just didn't, we didn't have a ton of deal flow.
Yeah.
You know? Um, and so we, we wouldn't have had enough deal flow to do a cohort. Right.
Mm-hmm. Okay.
And so we kind of just had, we actually self-funded our first 16 companies because we didn't know if this was going to work. Like we didn't know if we could attract truly top-tier, world-class teams to move to Chattanooga until their Series A. And by about the 5th or 6th company that we invested in, it was like, okay, we can, it's something is resonating. Yeah. The founders that, you know, that are serious are really drawn to this idea.
