Biotoxin exposure may trigger a cascade of hormonal and immune changes: low MSH, high TGF-β1 and C4a, and leptin resistance. These molecular shifts drive brain inflammation and neurological symptoms ranging from mood and cognitive problems to autism spectrum disorder and early neurodegeneration in some patients.

Wait, tell me more about the, tell me more about the biotoxin illness pathway. What is that?
Yeah, so the current understanding, and we're gonna be like looking into this a lot more, is that there's like HPA axis dysregulation. There's a cytokine storm that forms. This leads to like low levels of MSH in the body. It leads to high levels of TGF-beta-1, high levels of MMP-9, high levels of C4a. It also causes like your leptin receptors to be enslaved and then you develop some Something called leptin resistance. So our clinicians think it's tied to the obesity problem potentially. It can cause like such intensive neuroinflammation and even volumetric brain changes as well. Like, so that can show up as mood disorders, that can show up as some of the cognitive deficits we discussed. There's even publications tying it to autism spectrum disorder and PANS/PANDAS in children. And that's something like our clinicians have seen as well. Wow. Early onset neurodegenerative disorders. I do wanna caveat with like, there's so much more to learn and understand. We're tying what the clinicians have provided, this unpublished works to what we're seeing in the literature as well. So yeah, so that's like what our scientific team members are, are doing and putting together.
