Speaker B hit the Wall Street Journal bestseller list by building a 100,000-plus email list over years, then coordinating a launch across a weekly podcast, newsletters, live events, and a newspaper column called "Startup of the Week." The strategy relied on having an engaged community ready to move at once.
I'd love if you could share some of the tactics that you used to launch your book onto the Wall Street Journal bestsellers list.
I was just giving this advice to a friend who asked me just literally an hour before. There's a few things. So while building my community over years, I built up this massive email list of over 100,000 people, right? I released the podcast to them every week, events, our traction. It started with like hosting events. And so I send this newsletter every other week or so. It was once upon a time, it was twice a week, but if I don't have infinite value to give, I won't send it twice a week kind of thing. But we built this, amassed this newsletter through events. And the way we did that was back in the day when we started the company and we needed to get customers.
And so we started writing a column on the newspaper called Startup of the Week. Yeah.
