Who has really inspired Lightspeed Partner Mercedes Bent in her journey into venture?

Who are the investors that really have inspired you in your journey, or who could be someone you directly learned from, or it could be someone who you've looked up to?

I got hired by a guy named Jeremy Liu who was at Lightspeed for a really long time. He was one of the original investors who invested into Snapchat. And honestly, he's like one of the people I admire most in venture, I think, because really how he thinks about cultivating new venture investors and like the amount of time and energy and effort he puts into training people. Like, people told me venture, like, oh, get ready, no one's gonna look out for you. Like, you're not gonna like have like time of day. It's super solo. And you know, it kind of still amazes me to this day how the guy was so busy, like on so many boards, had huge successes. Like he was on the firm's board while it was going public and still is on their board. And like he had like Jessica Alba's company getting sold.
