Pete Ericson walks through installing the Leaky Paywall Custom Fields plugin, creating a field group for your subscription level, and adding fields like "your company name" to checkout. He also recommends the Basic Shipping add-on if you offer print subscriptions.

Hey everyone. Welcome to Zine101. In this tutorial we will install custom fields and get that all set up. So let's get started. First, I am going to install our custom fields plugin. You can find this in the zine 101 my account area. So let's go ahead and upload this and activate. All right, so now we have this activated and this tutorial assumes that you already have leaky paywall installed and that you have all of that set up. All right, so let's get to it. So if we go over to leaky paywall and registration fields, you're going to see we have an option here called Add New Field Group. So that's the first thing that we want to do. So I'm going to call this digital and I only have one level right now called my Digital Access Plan. Alright, so let's go ahead and create a company label and we'll call this your company name, giving your customers a little more information about what this field actually should include. And we can require this or not. So I'm going to say no on that and then just update. Now that we've updated that, we should be able to go check out our website and try to subscribe. Alright, and if, if we scroll down here, we'll notice that our label shows up Another plugin you might want to check out, especially if you offer a print option when subscribers check out and you need to collect some basic shipping information. Is our Leaky Paywall Basic Shipping add on? This is a perfect plugin if you're just looking to collect some shipping information from your customers. So if you're trying to do that, I would recommend going this route. If you're trying to collect additional information, maybe a company name or how your customer found you perhaps, then I would go with the Custom fields plugin. All right, that does it. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. See you next time.
