Being authentic on social media can drive connection

Polly Barnfield shows how The Fitness Studio, a local gym run by John and Suze, uses warm, personal social media to build customer connection. Real examples include a mummy-and-me class video and a playful Pilates post. Businesses should show faces, speak conversationally, and use the platform's content calendar to schedule posts and set up approval workflows.

Today we're looking at how having a warm tone on your content can drive connection with your potential customers. This is the Fitness Studio. The Fitness Studio is a local community gym offering a wide variety of classes and husband and wife team John and Suze regularly share updates on new classes and videos from their sessions. But where they really excel is actually their warmth with their members. Posts are created with a really authentic and very sort of welcoming and honest tone. And their comments on their posts speak to their strengths. Now in this video, I absolutely love it. So this is their video of their new mummy and me course. All the mummies have worked super hard and were little walk stars. You can see it's just very, very personable. And then when you go into their actual feature, you can see that they do lots of different types of things, but they keep it all really, really light. People do respond back to it. You see that they keep things very much chatty and helpful. So from my perspective, being real, authentic and genuine is the best way that you can be if you are a client facing business. People like having a business that has a face. So a friendly tone is really help when doing social media. Here we go. Keeping it really fun like this. Look at our Pilates peeps. I just picked up some new pieces of torture equipment. See really good fun. And then there you go, lots of comments and people are enjoying it. So any business can do this. My suggestion would be that you look at being more front and center of your business. Making sure that maybe showing faces more would be really helpful. But if you are a sort of chatty, approachable person, then make sure sure that comes across in your content. Now the Fitness studio might want to start looking at how they can schedule in this content because you can see they're very active. But it would make it easier if they could actually schedule in. So what they could do is they could go to their content calendar, which is on maybe you can click Care Content Content calendar there and then you can see all the content that they've already done and they can also then compare their calendar so you can pair it to any other fitness studio or fitness business, which would be great. So you can sort of see what's working for them. But then what you can also do is you can schedule in posts. So if we did this to the following week, you can choose to add in a post. You can literally click here and you can add in Twitter or it might be Facebook or it might be Instagram. Whichever you choose to do, you can create content really quickly and schedule it in and you can also choose to have it approved as well. So, Fitness Studio. It might be that, you know, if they're a husband and wife team, Suze might create something and she might want her husband to check over. So literally, you can choose to share it now or add it to the queue or add it in for approval. Really super easy. If you've got any questions whatsoever, please click on the little blue button. We love to help.
