Today we're in Aberdeenshire and we're looking at how being humble and human on social media can create connection with your audience. The something corny does straw work and corn dollies Handcrafted in the heart of Aberdeenshire, Scotland by Elaine Lindsay and Independent. We do gifts, decorations and beautiful crafts, but everything for them is about driving people down to book their workshops but also to sell their items as well. And the best way for a craft based business to do this on social media is by showing their process, their craftsmanship, showing that they're handmade and then explaining to the customer, I guess, what they've actually done and how. But this business likes to be a little bit different in terms of content. They don't go into loads of detail. They kind of let the end product speak for themselves. And what I love here is how Elaine mentions that she's making greeting cards this week. She loves the simplicity of this design. Hashtag greetings for us. Hashtag something Courtney Straw. And you'll see it said 96 engagements, which is huge. It's a three shares. But look at the comments. So people have said, love them, gorgeous. How do you present them? They're asking questions about them. Beautiful. It doesn't look so simple to me. It's beautiful. And then she's thanked everyone for their comments. So from my perspective, what this has done is this is, you know, to her this is simple but to everybody else this is huge. This is something that's really different that they wouldn't be able to do at home and they are appreciating her for it. So you can also see that as you go onto their main feed when they're talking about their workshops again, it's exactly the same. So it's so great to be opening up a bit. She's happy to have a bit of normality back and so it's a lovely group of ladies. So again, people love that and they're engaging in it as well. So what that tells me is that any business can do this by being genuine and authentic on social media. So if you've got a craft or you've got a skill to your product, share it, talk about it. Because people might think that it's actually more complicated to them than it is and people love to see your proofs. Now if I was something corny and I wanted to find out more about what any business and what another type maybe craft business might be doing, then all I would do is go into my dashboard, I would click, change insights and then I would pick. I don't know any craft craft based business at all in the QK in the uk. So it might be, say, craftsy. There you go. And then all it does is that it changed my insight. So this on my left is all me, which tells me all about, you know, how I'm performing. But then I can also compare all of my content and performance on social media to this craft based business as well. And here we are. Straight away. You can start to look at what you're doing versus what they're doing, and you can start to get a lot more inspiration and understand what you're doing. Now, if you've got any questions at all, click on the little blue button on the maybe dashboard. You can connect to us 24 7. We love to help you.
