Today we're looking at how Celebrating Place can encourage connection and engagement on social media. This is Simon Hurt and he's a photographer that's actually based up in Scotland. However, you know, as you can see, obviously he's going to post lots of beautiful images of him out and about, showing, you know, the different landscapes and things like that, because that's one of the things that he does. However, what I love about this post is a little bit, bit different. So you can see he's tagged in Cambridge and there's some absolutely stunning photos of a trip that he took to Cambridge, which obviously shows off his skills, but most of all celebrates Place. And what you'll see is he's talking about a few favorites from a wandering Cambridge last month. Back in 2019, he was talking about how he spent a lot of time there and it was back when he just went into Phil's full time self employed and he was right in delivery. So but while he was working on his photography business. So it really helps you connect. So you're kind of going, wow, so this was him, you know, in Cambridge. He was riding his deliveroo, you know, he was working hard in order to become a full time photographer and he's basically taking a walk down memory lane and then he's quite literally taking all of us down memory lane with him here with these beautiful images. So for me it's all about, you know, it's great images of a beautiful UK town. The caption gives us a lot of insight into his life, giving us a deeper feel for him, getting to know him. I think it shows that it's down to earth because he openly says at the end that he uses his sort of everyday presets for the editing. But all in all, it's about celebrating Place. So whilst he's from up north, he's celebrating somewhere that he clearly loves, that he's got a lot of nostalgia with. And I think it's something that whether you're from Cambridge or whether you're from anywhere else in the uk, you can really connect with it. And one of the great things about being a photographer is that it should be really easy to work well on Instagram, but not everyone gets it right. And he truly has with this because not only has he got, you know, the connection with the place place, he's got the story, he's tagged in the place, he's also got some amazing hashtags there as well.
