In this instructional video, Polly Barnfield, OBE, uses the Bradford salon Mario's Hairdressing as a case study to demonstrate how richly detailed social‑media content can turn viewers into booked clients. She highlights the power of before‑and‑after TikTok‑style videos that not only showcase dramatic results but also provide a deep dive into product specifics—hair type suitability, product name, benefits, transformation process, and longevity—so viewers have no unanswered questions. The video includes a clear call‑to‑action, directing viewers to book via phone or the Booksy app, and tags both the salon and the product brand (Kérastase) to broaden reach. Barnfield then walks through the platform’s Insight Summary dashboard, explaining how to read key metrics such as total followers across channels, post volume, engagement types (comments vs. likes), average engagement per day, best‑performing posts, and content calendar data. She shows how these insights help businesses assess posting frequency, platform performance, ad effectiveness, and conversation trends, enabling data‑driven decisions in monthly reviews. The segment ends with an invitation to click a help button for further assistance.

Today we're with one of Bradford's Green street pioneers, Mario's Hairdressing, and we're looking at how giving more detail on social media could be the tipping point for someone to book. Now, Mario's Hairdressing salon, based in Bradford, as you can see, they're really excellent at doing before and after some really lovely TikToks and, and it gives a real impact into showing the full customer experience like this one. So you can see the phenomenal before and after. Now, what's amazing about this though, isn't just the video. It's about the deep dive explanation in the content because it leaves me with absolutely no questions as to whether this would be for my hair type, for example. So it goes into what type of hair this product would work on. It gives you the name of the product, it tells you it's the perfect solution for anybody with X, Y and Z. It then explains what it actually does, how it transforms the hair and how long it lasts. I'm left with absolutely no question in my mind that if I am these, then this might be the solution for me and of course how long it would last for. So again, I don't need to ask any questions. And then of course the best part is it tells me exactly what I need to do. So it's got a great call to action. It tells me all the details on how I can go around booking so I can call into the salon or I can look via the booksy app searching Mario's Hairdressing and then they've been tagged in the booksy app as well. So I think what's amazing about this is that, you know, they're ultimately selling a product but without going in for the hard sell. They're giving me lots of advice and information on why it would be for me what it can do. And then the video just simply just shows the impact of that and the difference that this product can make. Also in the video they've tagged in Kerestrate as well as themselves. So again, getting multiple bites of the cherry in terms of reach. Now, it's really great way at selling the product and it just leaves no room for any kind of question. So I think it would just make you book off the back of it without having to ask a lot, which is ultimately what any social media post should be doing. If I was Mario's Hairdressing, I'd want to look at what else is working for my business, how my social media is actually working and filling into my sales, I guess. So what I would do is I would go to my insight summary. And when you go to your insight summary, it's in listing and insight summary on maybe. And then you click on yourself. So you click on Mario's. And here I can see really quickly at a glance what's working. So I can look at my followers. So that is all my followers across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I can look at the total number of posts and that date range. I can look at the engagements, looking at the most invaluable engagements. Comments carry more than more weight than likes. For example, I can look at how many posts I'm doing per day across all the social media. Am I doing too many? Am I not doing enough? I can look at the average engagement. So if you are doing a lot and you're not getting a huge amount of engagement, what does that say? What do you do off the back of it? It's just a good way of analyzing and what's working. Then you can look at your average engagement per day. And then of course you can look at what your best post was over that time period. And you can even view your content calendar as well and go into your schedule based on what you've learned from this. And it just, it was a really good way for them. You know, say they're having a monthly meeting and they're looking at, you know, I don't know, I'm spending X amount of time on Instagram. Is it actually Facebook works better for me. Well, this is the best way of finding out because you can also then go into here. I can pull up individual reports. You can look at any ads that you're running. You can look at the conversations. This shows that you're basically your Instagram good, your Facebook altogether. And then also you can view your insights directly so you get a deep dive into all of this information as well.
