How Innocent post consistently to engage their audience

Polly Barnfield shows how Innocent builds engagement without posting daily, focusing instead on entertaining content and active comment replies. The brand tests posting times and uses data to find what works, proving consistency and genuine interaction beat posting volume.

We're going to take a look at how Innocent achieve a posting schedule that works super effectively for them, even though they don't actually post every day. If you have any questions as we do, please use the blue button inside maybe as it connects you to us 247 and we love to help. So, so let's check this out. So Innocent are obviously a big brand and it's hard to miss them on social media. They entertain, they engage, and they make many of us smile really often with their posts. But what they do so well is they entertain through quality content. They stick to a consistent posting schedule and they spend as much time replying to comments on their posts as they do posting great content. And that's really important and it works really well. They don't even directly promote their products really. They just engage. I mean, you can see here that it's a funny post. We're not saying it's been a slow morning, but Hayley has spent 15 minutes on her next smoothie Jenga move. So clearly there are their products in that image. But that's not them saying, you know, look at this product, it's great, please buy it. It's just a fun, light hearted post and they just promote their products in a really subtle way and it works. They use great IM images, eye catching images, but nothing complicated. You know, it's just, it's just a really good image that would catch your eye. It's colorful, but it's not too complex. It's easy to take. But then in contrast, you have some of their posts that are literally just text and nothing else. And you know, often with social media you say, you know, include a great image, include a video, but for Innocent, it works, you know, not to actually do that. Like here, you know, this is obviously a post about the weather, but you can see as you go down here, they have spent just as much, if not more time engaging with comments on that post as they have obviously, you know, generating the post in the first place. So that's really important. But the other thing that stands out on their feedback is as you scroll down, you'll regularly see that they don't post every day. So I mean, there's a couple of days here where they didn't post similarly again. And that is, that happens, you know, as you scroll back and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. They've obviously they've got a posting schedule that works for them and they don't post every day. And I think what we can learn from this is that you know, naturally really important to set a posting target as a business that's realistic for you, which doesn't have to be every day. It might be once a week, if that's the maximum that you can manage. But it's important to play around with times that you post, play around with the days that you post, and obviously find a posting schedule that works for you, that gets you the most engagement. So you might find that if you post three times a week, one of those posts is on a Friday lunchtime, because that's when you found that you get most engagement. And then if you continue to post at that time, your followers will get used to hearing from you at that time. But as we can see here, within a cent, they're a big brand. You'd assume that they, you know, post every day or multiple times a day, but they don't, you know, they. But, but that absolutely has no impact on how successful their social media is at all. You know, they've got a schedule that works for them and they stick to it. And that's great. So, you know, that's a key learning really is. Find a schedule that works for you, but also play around with those times. Find times that work for you, but then spend an equal amount of time engaging on your posts and engaging with people that comment on your posts as you do actually posting content in the first place. So let's have a look how maybe can actually help you with this. Well, if you go into your maybe account, you can see on your dashboard your best post, but not only that, you can see the best post for other brands. So you might want to look at a brand that you admire or a competitor or another business in your place, but you can also see the best post for that brand or whichever brand you choose. So you can see what times and platforms you know worked best for you. So you can actually do more posting at that time. But not only can you see that on your dashboard, if you look into under listening on best posts, you can actually see the best posts in a place, in a sector or for a particular channel. So you can actually cut it and slice it as exactly as you want to, just so you can see. So all of these best posts obviously show the time that they were posted. So if you want to see, for example, when do people tend to engage with content from a particular sector? So you might be in the food retail sector, you can look at food, food retail, and you can see if there's a pattern. So if people tend to engage with that content, you know, more often in the evening. There's a learning from that, and you can actually then incorporate that into your approach on your feeds. So I hope that's been useful. And there's definitely some learnings when looking at Innocence posts. If you have any questions, please use the blue Chat button inside maybes. It connects you to us 24 7.
