In this Dundee‑based presentation, the speaker explains how small businesses can boost their social‑media presence by repurposing content from other accounts. Using the example of Functional Fitness—a fitness group targeting over‑60s—the speaker shows how they identified an Instagram post from a peer account, adapted it for their own audience, and achieved higher engagement, including six shares. The talk outlines a step‑by‑step process: follow relevant local businesses, use tools like the Regram app to tag original creators, and employ a content‑inspiration dashboard with local filters to discover suitable posts. Ethical considerations are highlighted, emphasizing proper credit to the source. Repurposing is presented as a time‑saving strategy that benefits both the original and the repurposing business. The presentation ends with a call‑to‑action to click a blue button for 24/7 assistance.

Today we're in Dundee and we're looking at how you can repurpose other people's content to make it work for your clientele. Functional Fitness is a next level fitness group. They do personal training, they do beginner sessions, Olympic lifting, and then they do strength and conditioning. They've made programs specifically for over 60s with three, which would be a new clientele for them. Now, this is something many businesses struggle with because they're just not quite sure which content will speak to their target market and what might get lost in messaging. However, Functional Fitness clearly follow a lot of different accounts and this is the post that I want to talk about. So this work, they found this image on this Instagram account here and then what they've done is looked at it and thought this would work quite well. Thinking about what might connect with their older clientele, it gave them a lot more engagement than many of their other posts, including six shares. Any business should be following other accounts because it's things that people might find funny or clever things on Facebook or Instagram which might be relevant for their clientele and might be ready to repurpose and reshare to suit them. And guess what, guys, if you repurpose other people's content, it's absolutely fine. As long as you tag them in. On Instagram, you can use the Regram app and on here, as long as you tag them in, it is absolutely fine to use. Or at least very, the very least even like this, give them a little nod because it only helps their accounts, it only helps your accounts. And guess what? It also takes the time out of you actually coming up with some content as well. Now, one of the great ways of getting content inspiration is actually through your maybe dashboard. So if you have a look at content and you go to content inspiration here, this helps you come up with other ideas. So it's other, other businesses and other really, really strong businesses in your area and it will come up with different accounts that you might like and different posts you might like. They're all going to be in your area, but it just gives you a little understanding of what's going on. And again, you might go, do you know what? This would really appeal to my clientele or this might really appeal to my clientele. It doesn't matter. Switch from all. You can switch to local. You can just choose to be local businesses. So it might be that, I don't know, this might appeal to your clientele, this might appeal to your clientele, it doesn't matter. But you can actually take that post and you can create a post off the back of it. You can choose to go through the rest of their posts and it might just be that you even don't want to share it. It might be that you just look at this and think, wow, this is really cool. I want to come up with something like this, too.
