How showing progress on social media can support your business

Matt's Gallimore Building Services got engagement by posting multiple images of completed work with detailed captions and thanks to their trades. The strategy: create Facebook groups with regular partners like plumbers and electricians, then like and comment on each other's posts to stay visible and get referrals.

Today we're looking at how showing progress on social media can be beneficial for engagement. This is Matt's Gallimore Building Services and they use Facebook very much as, you know, a little window into what they do. So it shows the various types of work that they take on and based up in Lincoln. And as you can see, they do get a little bit of engagement whenever they post and they do post regularly. However, what I really liked is that this post here got a lot more engagement than the rest of them. And I think it is due to the fact that they have not only shown the progress with a ton of different images, but they have gone into lots of detail in the caption. So I'll explain it and then I'll show the images. So here it is, it's saying that it's an extension. They've explained what they've done, so they've soundproofed the music room, they've done a loft conversion, a hair salon to complete on their behalf, and then they're going to be back to do the patios, the walls, the kitch. So. And then what they've done as well is the thanks to all the trades who've done it. So they've thanked everybody involved because, let's face it, you know, they're being builders, they have to work with electricians, they have to work with plasters, they have to work with joiners, all these people. So they've put them all in and obviously where they've. They've been able to tag them and they have tagged them in, but obviously not everybody has Facebook, which is understandable, that's fine. But the fact that they've mentioned them by name, I think just really shows that kind of the workmanship and the trust. And you know, when people obviously are handing over their homes to be rebuild or, you know, like for anything like that, then obviously, you know, they need to be able to trust them. So I think in doing that they have. They've tagged in the businesses where they could, but as you can see, they've shown all of the progress here and I think this is where you can really see, you know, so this isn't the end result, this is just where they're at at the moment. They've added 33 images in which shows the length and breadth of what they do. It, I guess, just gives you that understanding of the sheer amount of A work that they've complet completed and B, what they can do. So if I was a potential customer, I would be looking at this and thinking, wow, okay. And you know, I can really trust these guys. So that is the importance of showing progress on social media. Now, if I was this business, I would want to look at how I could get more out of like, you know, all the trades and different businesses that I work with. So I'm going to maybe and go to the group and engage and then the group section. And what you can do is you can create groups. They could add them in here and they would type in, I don't know, maybe a plumber, it might be an electrician. But basically businesses that they work with on a regular basis and naturally they, they get referrals from and they could add them in here, they create a group so they would call it maybe their engagement group, create a little group. And then here it would be all of the, all the businesses that they've added in, it would be all of their latest posts. So it might be a plumber, it might be an electrician, it might be a joiner, it would be all their latest posts. And then as the building company, I would go in there and I would be liking, I would be commenting, I might even recreate it and shade it for myself to say, well done. And not only are the other businesses going to like it, they're going to like the fact that, you know, that you're supporting them in social media, that you've got eyes on them. So it will make you kind of front of mind whenever they're obviously recommending you to other people. But it also helps you see you maybe share some other services and things like that that you know are supporting other local businesses. Now, as always, if you've got any questions at all, click on the little blue button. We love to help.
