In this instructional video, the presenter explains how small businesses can increase social media traction by sharing the story behind their brand. Using Simplified Accounting as a case study, the speaker highlights the importance of communicating the "why, how, and what" of the business to humanize the brand, clarify its mission, and connect with audiences on a deeper level. The video also emphasizes the use of short, actionable advice pieces and strategic hashtags to broaden reach. Additionally, it demonstrates a practical method for local digital networking: selecting a location (e.g., Bradford) on the platform to discover nearby businesses with strong social presence, then engaging with them through likes, comments, shares, and direct messages. The presentation concludes with a call‑to‑action inviting viewers to click a blue button for further assistance.

Today we're looking at how explaining your story can have much more traction with followers on social media. This is simplified accounting. They're a small business that offers lots of small pieces of advice. Let's have a look here. Lots of small pieces of advice alongside advertising on its social channels, which is a really brilliant way of broadening their reach by extending small pieces of token advice in their field. However, here they recently turned 11 and they've been posting about the basis, the core of their business, their why, if you like, which I guess is a fantastic way to humanize themselves, but it really helps people understand their mission and their purpose and their story of what came about, why it came about and what their mission is. And it's read in a really sort of personal and sort of like friendly tone, which furthers this feeling. I guess so. So here she goes into why I strongly believe that anyone can access the numbers. You just need the right person to help you. You haven't read start with why she and they give some explanation on how you can get started. And then people have really gotten into why as well. She's also done an amazing hashtag. So basically by explaining your why, by explaining your how, by explaining your what, which is basically, you know, what you do, how you do it and why. So your purpose, your process, your services, you really giving people an insight into how you work and I guess the type of service that they're going to get. And it also help also, I guess, yeah, humanize your business a little bit and it helps people connect with you on a completely different level and perhaps choose you over a different business. Now if I was these guys, because they clearly operate everywhere and do a lot of things online, I would want to be looking at like some of the places that maybe some of the businesses are that I work with. So say I have a load of businesses and one of, one of my contacts maybe is in Bradford. I've got into maybe going to engagement, going to location, choose Bradford. If I wanted to reach out to other local Bradford businesses, because I say I'm already working with one, I would go in here, you would click local and then there comes up with all the businesses in the area that are doing quite well on social media, if they're doing well on social media, they clearly invest in marketing, they clearly invest in themselves a little bit. And as an accountant, I could maybe start making some connections with them. I could start liking their stuff, I could start commenting, I could start sharing and then I could maybe do a little DM to them to say been watching you on social media. You guys look great. I'm an accountant. I ordered to work with someone, local area, and I'd love to get in contact with you. It's just a great way of, I guess, almost digitally networking without actually having to physically leave the room. Now, if you've got any questions whatsoever, click on the little blue button. We'd love to help.
