How the devil is in the detail to make social work

A local car business in North Lanarkshire grew its social media by nailing the details: striking images, product tags, emojis, and clear contact info in every post. The presenter shows how to use an Engage dashboard to find and interact with other local businesses, even ones selling different things, to reach more people.

Today we're in North Lanarkshire and we're showing how businesses should give detail in the images and on the post to capture followers interest. This is J and A automotive based in North Lanarkshire and as you can see, they post a lot about cars. That's what they do. They've got a very engaged following on Instagram, like majority of car dealerships, car restoration companies and mechanics because they understand their audience are petrol heads. They understand what type of thing they're going to be looking for, AKA the detail of the cars, and they share it with enthusiasm. Now, I want to look at one of their best posts, which is actually this one here. So why would it be their best post? Now, first of all, the main image was what would stop you in your tracks, which is this one. If you are a BMW lover or a BMW enthusiast, this image would stop you in your tracks straight away. They then tagged in part of the product as well, which was talking about basically what was fitted in and they've tagged that in, which would boost their reach and make sure that the MST performance is much more likely. To reshare. That post as well, they've added in a little emoji, which is the little heart emoji here, which again just kind of shows their love for their cars, their passion, which I think anybody who again is a car enthusiast would get right behind. And then they've got a carousel of images so they've got all of the detail here that again, if you're not a car lover, you might not recognize, but if you are, then you would absolutely be zooming in and looking at that detail to find out more and then look at the content. They told us how to get in contact with them on mobile, how to do it on email, the fact that you can message them on Facebook or Instagram and you're going to get a response. I know their opening times, I know when they're closed. So literally this is, you know, hello, car enthusiast. This is what we do, this is what we love. We're great at it. Oh, and we work with this company and here's the. Here's all the ways to get in contact with us. Please come on down. That's effectively an invitation down. And people have responded. My next car. Stunning. Tagging in friends. There you go. People are absolutely loving it. So I guess any business can do this. So people don't want to try and go and find detail out on people's websites anymore. They want to have it at their fingertips. So making sure you put all of this kind of information is really important. And then the other thing as well is if you know that your customers are enthusiastic about something, make sure that the detail is in the image or the video as well. So it doesn't matter whether they love donuts or whether it's a meal or whether it's nails or hair. It's about showing the detail, showing the. Before the beginning. Sorry, the before the middle and the end. There you go. Now, if I was this business based in North Lanarkshire, I'd be wanting to look at what other businesses are in the area that I should be engaging with to try and drive more reach and try to get more. More eyes on my feet. So I would go to the maybe dashboard, I would go to Engage tab, and then I would search for North Lanarkshire. There we go. And then all we do is we click local. And these are the most engaged businesses within North Lanarkshire that I would want to be going in and engaging with. So if, for example, you know, it could be. Could be this one, you know, for example, this could be sort of about, you know, painting, for example. This could literally be about, you know, this could be wedding venues. It doesn't matter. These are all businesses that are in your area that have a really engaged following. And what I'd be wanting to do, especially this kind of one, I want to be going in and, you know, like football, let's be going in and liking, commenting, sharing, engaging in these. If they have my target demographic, because guess what, if they live in the local area, even if they're not your demographic, someone else in their family might be and they might be willing to share. So here we go. Lots and lots of businesses to engage with. Now, if you have any questions at all, please click the little blue button. It connects you to us 24 7. We love to help.
