In this instructional video, Polly Barnfield, OBE, demonstrates how the Essex pub The King's Arms leverages Facebook to attract both new and regular customers. She first emphasizes the importance of a clear, memorable page name for searchability. She then reviews the pub’s busy Facebook feed, highlighting its community‑focused mix of text, images, and video that showcase daily activities, special offers, events, and holidays, appealing to individuals, families, and friend groups. Consistent posting of regular nights (e.g., quizzes) alongside larger events keeps the brand visible in followers’ feeds. Barnfield then shifts to the back‑end, showing a social‑media dashboard that aggregates comments from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Messenger. She walks through filtering by platform, selecting date ranges, bookmarking, assigning comments to team members, and replying directly from the dashboard, stressing that this centralised approach simplifies engagement management. She also notes that responding as a personal profile on Facebook is acceptable. The video concludes with a call to action to use the help button for further support.

Do you make use of Facebook for your business? Facebook can be a really useful tool to help bring your customers in in an online sense. In this video we're going to be looking at, we're going to look at an Essex based publisher, the King's Arms and they're brilliant use of Facebook to showcase events, special offers and really just normal days at the pub as well. So first things first, they've got a really clear, easy to remember name. It's just appear. So it's very important when you set up your name to make it a good like this one, because that improves your searchability. Basically you want people to be able to find you easily, make it as easy as possible because then they can interact with your content. So let's just scroll down their page, shall we? And it's, it's a pretty busy page. Plenty, plenty of posts. We've got special days here, lots of imagery, all things to entice customers in. And it's all very community focused as well. It's not just about one type of customer. We're looking at individuals, family groups, friend groups. And you can see this at a glance. I mean, how long have we been on this page? Just, you know, a minute. So prospective customers, not regulars, can look at their feed. Perhaps they're heading to the area, they can take a little look at this feed and know that they'll be welcomed. And there's also plenty for the pub's regular regulars to interact with too. Just scrolling down, you can see that they're not short on likes, comments, shares when it comes to engagement from their followers. So we can see that the pub is posting consistently, sharing regular nights such as pub quizzes and bigger nights, interspersed with special events like holidays, Easter and all that. There's lots of info, plenty of happy customers having fun, and there's also a variety in the content that they're posting as well. We've got pure text, we've got images and we've got video, they're all there. And all these posts separately and together will both entertain and engage their audience, keeping them informed and making sure that they are a consistent presence in their followers feeds. But putting out the content is only part of the job, really. The second and equally important element is, is keeping on top of your engagement. So by engagement we mean the interactions that your posts have received. So likes, comments and shares and you can monitor all of this through maybe. So let's go there now, shall we? From my dashboard, I have come to engagement, hovered over that and it's gone blue And I have clicked on comments. You can also send mentioned and engaged and recommended here. But for this video we're looking at comments. So here in this section you'll be able to see all your comments from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. See that there on the left hand side. We can also go down to the bottom and messenger is also selected here as well. So you can filter according to the platform. It can just deselect something here as well and then select it again at the bottom. If we want to add it back in, you can see we've got all four selected and there we've got the top. You can bookmark them and you can assign comments to other members of your team. You can also choose your date range. You can actually go back as far as you want really. Or you can crop the dates as much as you want really. It's just all to do with the way you work and what would suit you. It's all adaptable. So once you've chosen your channels and you've chosen your dates, your comments will appear on this page and yet you can respond to them from here as well. And you can, you know like reply and assign and all of that just in one place. And it just takes the headache out of it all really. One thing to note, obviously we've been talking about Facebook. You have no worries at all about responding as yourself. We've all done it. Responded as a personal profile rather than a business profile on Facebook when responding natively. Natively means within the platform. But there's no concerns about that at all here. And yes, it would just help you to keep on top of everything in one easy to access place. So I do hope that was useful. Please, if you have any questions at all, just hit this blue button in your maybe browser as that connects you to us 24, 7 and we love to help.
