In this instructional video, the presenter analyses a successful Sandwell Council social‑media post that offered free school uniforms to families during an economic crisis. The post generated 455 shares, 52 comments and over 70 engagements. The presenter explains why the post performed so well – an attention‑grabbing headline about school‑return costs, the word “free”, use of emojis, clear dates, locations and a branded image. He then demonstrates how to use the platform’s dashboard (Engage → Location) to search for “Sandwell”, select local businesses and schools, and engage with them to drive more profile visits while supporting the local economy. The video concludes with a call‑to‑action to ask questions via a blue help button, emphasizing community collaboration and ongoing outreach.

Foreign. People together through social media. Everyone knows it's really expensive for people when the kids go back to school and if you get multiple children, it can really break the bank for people, particularly during an economic crisis. Therefore, Sandwell Council shared this amazing post about how people are coming together to donate clean, fresh school uniforms from multiple schools within the area and all different size and fits completely free for people to take. It has had an absolutely huge amount of engagement and it shows that the council really has its finger on the pulse when it comes to understanding where people are at right now and exactly what they need. The post has everything. It's got emojis to keep it nice and light. It starts with, you know, thinking about the kids going back to school. So it's almost like a little headline here. So it would capture your attention if you're a parent. And then they've got free from like the second line in which again would capture your attention. And it's given all the dates, all the times of all the places that you need to go and then the wrapped all up here within the branded image as well. And people have really responded to it. So. 455 shares, 52 comments and over 70 engagements, which is incredible. So I think it really just shows you that this is a bunch of different organizations all coming together to help the community at a time where people desperately need it. And if I was them, I would want to be engaging with as many businesses and schools in the local area and to keep new people coming to my profile and share as much as possible. Therefore, I would go to my maybe dashboard and I would go to Engage and within the Engage section you can go to location. And what I would do is I would be putting in Sandwell as it's coming up, I would be putting in Sandwell here. And it would be the nearest place to that. So we'll just go for this. So you can pick a place or you can pick a general sort of location or you can pick a postcode. So it would just come up with that and then basically you would click on local. So these would be all of the local businesses within that area that as a council I can engage with and support. So it means that I'd be attracting new people back to my feed and I'd be supporting local businesses at the same time as well. If you've got any questions whatsoever, click on the little blue button. We love to help.
