Today we're looking at how you can capture people's attention on social media with controversial content. Now, this is Lauren and she is a business coach. And normally you would think that, you know, if you were business coaching, then you would be kind of, I guess what you see here, you know, talking about, you know, different ways of working with her, different ways of, you know, like sort of highlighting, you know, your successful clients, that kind of thing. So that's really interesting. However, what she's done here is she's driven a lot of engagement by talking about why the bits of her business that she struggles with and the bits that she doesn't like. So what she's done is she's created a carousel with kind of an alluring photo behind it, talking about the taboo subjects over the top and the things that she doesn't like about her business. So the main image kind of creates intrigue into hearing more about what she has to say as a business coach about what she doesn't like about business, which I think is really interesting. And then she's put all the different ones here. Writing emails, having business coach is my job title in my bio. Managing a team, yes, you create business, but blah, blah, blah. So you know that she's really gone into the. The reason why she's done it is because these are probably a lot of the things that, you know, a lot of people will struggle with as independent business owners. So she's kind of, I guess, was it creating trust by being honest about the things that she doesn't like about her business? So she's shown that, you know, that she's a real person and not, you know, just some superhuman, you know, rock star business owner. But then she's also giving them an opportunity to talk about the things that they don't like as well. She's given them an opportunity to go, do you know what? Running a business isn't always plain sailing. Running a business isn't always easy. So let's be honest here. So by doing that, she's creating, she's alluring you in with the controversial content. You know, a business coach talking about things being bad at business, but actually it's really a positive thing because what she's doing is she's creating trust, she's showing empathy, she's showing that she's a real person and people buy from people. So I think any business can learn a lot from this about, you know, it might be whether it's, you know, how long your days are if you work in a bar, or it might be, you know, that I don't know, being on your feet all day when you're a salon owner or anything like that. You know, anyone can learn from being a bit more honest about, you know, their day to day stuff on social media. Now if I was Lauren, what I'd want to do is to be looking at my social media and seeing how well it's working for me. So I would go to my maybe platform and go to the listening section and insight summary because she obviously spends a lot of time on social media and promoting herself. So I would then go into there and basically she can create her own report or she can look at all the detail but this just gives her top level. She can look at how many followers she's got across all her channels, she can look at how many posts she's done, she can look at the number of engagements, the number of posts per day, she can look at engagements per post, engagements per day and then she can look at even her best posts as well and she can view her calendar. So you can really start to get to grips and fine tune, I guess, you know, what's working for you and what's not. And as she said, you know, she's got a team of people then that will really help her understand, I guess, you know, the what's, the whys and the where's.
