How to create a strong hashtag strategy on instagram

Build an Instagram hashtag strategy by starting with product-specific tags, then expanding to materials, benefits like healing, and related interests like fashion or meditation. Pretty Packages UK, a crystal seller, uses tags like #crystalshop and #amethyst. Save hashtag groups in a management platform and engage with posts using those tags to reach your audience.

Today we're looking at how to create a strong hashtag strategy on Instagram. So this is pretty Packages uk. As you can see, they do absolutely gorgeous, sort of crafty rainbows and things like that. It's absolutely beautiful. And here what they've done is they've, they've done kind of like what they've done before. Everything is sort of pastel colored, really bright, all about, you know, like the gorgeous kind of rainbow style color. So it's all kind of designed to capture your attention and fits in with their brand. And here they've done exactly the same thing. So they've got the products here and then they've got some little crystals dotted around and then they've got, you know, the beautiful little flower here just to kind of capture your attention and then the put in the caption, who else here loves crystals? Watch this space for some crystal rainbow combos coming soon. So this is then basically publicly size and that they've got a new product. So it is designed for people who love rainbows and designed for people who love crystals and bringing those two things together. Now, whilst the image is great and whilst the content's great, this is all about the hashtags. So the hashtags here are fantastic because this goes back to the, I guess, you know, the kind of people who are really interested in gemstones, crystals, in the meaning behind things and healing and you know, the way that it makes you feel and energy, all that kind of stuff. And that is huge market, particularly on social media. So here what they've done is they've used all the kind of hashtags that are anything to do with their new product, which is crystals. So they've got their gemstones or crystal Shop, Crystal love, crystal healing that then put the individual stones in here. So you've got your quartz, you've got your gemstones, you've got your amethyst and things like that. Then you've got other things. So you've kind of got the minerals, you've got your nature, art, fashion, geology, meditation. So again, these are all things that, that people would be interested in around that subject. Because what we always say when you're creating a hashtag strategy is exactly like this. It's thinking about what is the product, so the product we know are crystals. So what are all the things that people would be looking for around crystals or around, you know, whatever your product is? Then it's thinking about the, what goes into maybe making the products or any suppliers or anything, you know, that people would be interested in. So again, that would be in the minerals and things like that. Then it's, I guess, what your product does. So is it about healing? Is it about helping? Is it about supporting? There'll be hashtags around that. There might be local ones. If you're based in a specific location, you would add in local ones. But if not, it would be. Well, actually, if you're interested in crystals and you're interested in healing, then what else are you interested in? Here it might be fashion, it might be art, it might be meditation. So it's looking at all the hashtags that go with it, because hashtags are sign posts back to your Instagram or back to your social media. And the idea is about using things that are going to drive the right people to your social media. Now, if I was pretty packages, what I would do is I would create a hashtag group so that I could engage lots with hashtags. So basically what you would do is you would go into the maybe platform, you would go into group and then in here you would start to add in hashtags. So you would do things like, I don't know, hashtag clean, sorry, hashtag crystals or something like that. And then what it does is you search and it comes up with the hashtag that you're looking for and, and then it adds it into your profile. And then here it will start collecting all of that, all of the posts that any for anyone who uses hashtag crystals. And that means that then if you are launching say a crystal product or a jewelry product or anything like that, you can then start to engage within that hashtag and then you're going to come up to people who are interested directly in your product. And this is no different if you are a baker or a butcher or a hairdresser. They're all the same. You know, ultimately they would all have their own hashtags. Now, as always, if you've got any questions whatsoever, click on the little blue button. We'd love to help.
