Today we're looking at how to use social media to create engagement around an announcement. Now, as you can see, this post has lots and lots of engagement and here's why. This is Shrewsbury Academy and what they've done here is they've used Facebook to do an announcement that they are running some egg queen assisted learning and wellbeing sessions for students at Shrewsbury Academy. They then go on to explain that they're running a number of sessions for schools across the Trust. And they've tagged in the trust, which obviously then the schools that are all linked to the trust, and they're explaining that people found it really, really helpful. They're saying they're really excited, they're using emojis, which makes it just much more relatable. And then they're saying, have a read of the introductory letter from Michelle below, which is here, which is what the, you know, the image is. And then they're asking people to check out the link to find out a little bit more. So this is all things. It's all about announcing a brand new type of, you know, learning, I guess, and that brings engagement through excitement. So because they sound excited, it makes you. So. It makes you feel excited. So I guess the image alone wouldn't be enough. It really is about the tone. So make sure when you are thinking about your social media, if you are doing any announcements, do this, make it exciting. Also equally make sure that you're tagging in anyone relevant, like these guys have, and then also ask people to do a thing, AKA a call to action. So here they're asking to go to the website to learn more and they've used some really amazing hashtags as well, such as Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Shropshire School, because these are, again, hashtags that people are going to be following or engaging with if they're looking for people like the Shrewsbury Academy.
