In this instructional monologue, the presenter dissects an Instagram post from the Vegan Market that promotes a new vendor at their inaugural Doncaster vegan market. He highlights how the post combines a striking food photograph (food porn) with concise copy that includes essential event details—date, time, location, and what food will be available. The analysis emphasizes the strategic use of business tagging to extend reach, and a hybrid hashtag mix that balances local (e.g., #Doncaster, #YorkshireVegan) and broader UK‑wide vegan and dietary tags (e.g., #VeganLunch, #GlutenFree). The presenter argues that this compact, four‑line format efficiently captures attention without overwhelming the audience, illustrating a best‑practice template for Instagram event promotion.

Today we're looking at how to be informative on your social media posts while still being interesting. Now, this is the Vegan Market company. As you can see, they show some beautiful vegan food which they showcase at their vegan markets regularly, all over. And what they've done with this post is they are welcoming a new business to their first ever Doncaster vegan Market market. They're saying when it is and they're saying what you can get. And obviously the image itself is an absolute showstopper. We talk all the time about food porn and this is one of the best ways of trying to entice people down to your venue is by showing off the tasty food that will be available. However, what I love about this is not just about, you know, the great sample of what the food booth will be on offer. They then talk about where it is, they then talk about the. They then tag in the business, which is obviously going to give them a bit of an extra boost and extra reach. But they also have some really, really strong hashtags as well, which is all local. You've got local versus vegan. You've got the vegan lunch, you've got your Yorkshire vegan, you've got your gluten free. So all the different things that I guess people will be looking for if they're looking for vegan food anywhere across the uk, and specifically they're looking at Doncaster for this one. So they need to get local, but they need to get UK wise because obviously they've got that bigger reach, but really it's about having all of the things wrapped up in one. So, so we know what they're doing, we know who they're doing it with, we know where it is, we know what time when it, when it's on or what time it's on. And then we know what food we're going to get. So literally it's all tapped, wrapped up in what, 1, 2, 3, what, 4 lines. So that is a really, really good way of capturing people's attention on Instagram without, I guess, being too, you know, having too much content.
