How to give the right information on your posts to drive people over the threshold

Polly Barnfield shows how to write Instagram posts that get people to your events. Use food photos, answer who/what/where/when, tag partner businesses, and mix local hashtags like #Doncaster with broader ones like #YorkshireVegan to reach both nearby and national audiences.

Today we're looking at how to be informative on your social media posts while still being interesting. Now, this is the Vegan Market company. As you can see, they show some beautiful vegan food which they showcase at their vegan markets regularly, all over. And what they've done with this post is they are welcoming a new business to their first ever Doncaster vegan market market. They're saying when it is and they're saying what you can get. And obviously the image itself is an absolute showstopper. We talk all the time about food porn and this is one of the best ways of trying to entice people down to your venue is by showing off the tasty food that will be available. However, what I love about this is not just about, you know, the great sample of what the food will be on offer. They then talk about where it is, they then talk about the, they then tag in the business, which is obviously going to give them a bit of an extra boost and extra reach. But they also have some really, really strong hashtags as well, which is all local. You've got local versus vegan. You've got the vegan lunch, you've got your Yorkshire vegan, you've got your gluten free. So all the different things that I guess people will be looking for if they're looking for vegan food anywhere across the uk and specifically they're looking at Doncaster for this one. So they need to get local, but they need to get UK wise because obviously they've got that bigger reach, but really it's about having all of the things wrapped up in one. So, so we know what they're doing that, we know who they're doing it with, we know where it is, we know what time when it, when it's on or what time it's on and then we know what food we're going to get. So literally it's all tapped, wrapped up in what, 1, 2, 3, what, 4 lines. So that is a really, really good way of capturing people's attention on Instagram without, I guess being too, you know, having too much content. Now, if I was the vegan market company, because obviously they have to post quite a lot and they've got lots of venues that they need to go to and lots of things they need to do. They're busy. So if I wanted to manage their social media, I would be going to the maybe platform, go to content and Content Calendar, because in there what you can see is you can see all of the content that's already been scheduled in for the week. Then you can also start to go in and add posts. You can schedule in content ahead of time. And then you can also start to go in and understand what's working and what's not, as well as comparing your calendar. So they might want to compare their calendar to a vegan company, it might be to an alternative market company to sort of understand, you know, are they using more Twitter, they use more Facebook, they use more Instagram. But really, it's all about time saving, becoming more efficient and allowing you more time to engage. Now, if you've got any questions whatsoever, click on the little blue button. We'd love to help.
