In this instructional video, the presenter explains how brands can increase social‑media engagement by forming partnerships with influencers and local businesses, using Forestry England’s collaboration with TV presenter Vanessa Feltz as a concrete example. The video showcases a beautifully produced forest‑promotion clip featuring Feltz, highlighting how her authentic, down‑to‑earth presentation makes the location appealing. The presenter discusses the mechanics of paid and unpaid collaborations, emphasizing the “double‑reach” effect where the influencer’s audience discovers the brand and the brand’s followers discover the influencer. He then outlines a location‑focused strategy: identify local businesses with strong social presence, engage with their content, and cross‑promote to attract the right regional audience (e.g., hikers, cyclists, dog walkers). The talk concludes with a call‑to‑action for viewers to ask questions, reinforcing the practical, actionable nature of the advice.

Today we're looking at collaborations and partnering up to drive engagement on social media. Here is Forestry England and they've done a partnership with Vanessa Felt, who's obviously a very famous TV presenter in the uk. And what they've done is they've made a beautiful video basically to kind of promote the stunning local forest near where Vanessa Felts lives. And the idea is talking about, you know, Forestry England. So forests all around England. So let's take a look at it and then we'll talk about it.
It's a little wild, it's exciting and enticing. There's something for everyone, something for all ages to enjoy, whether it's exploring, whether it's cycling, hiring a bike. You start to think about things you haven't had a chance to think about all week. Just a lovely way of relaxing, recalibrating and remembering what really matters in life. There's a nice place to have a cup of coffee and lunch. It's great for all times of year. Plan your trip, have a look on the website, make sure you know where.
You'Re going and what you want to do when you get there.
There we connect with nature.
Okay. So yes, whilst not everybody would be able to do something like this, you can look at how you can collaborate and work with other people to really boost your engagement. So obviously it's a gorgeous video of, you know, in the woods and talking about all the reasons why we love the woods and make so it makes the real relatable. So while she, you know, is a TV celebrity, if you like, you know, she seems down to earth and, you know, she's walking and talking and, you know, really kind of showing the place for what it is and how beautiful it is. Obviously, things like paid partnerships do help create more engagement on posts and will drive more of the, you know, people who obviously follow Vanessa Felts are going to be interested suddenly in Forestry England and people that are interested in Forestry England might then go back to Vanessa Felt. So the idea in doing any kind of partnership, whether it's paid or unpaid, is all about, I guess, you know, like doubling your reach, doubling your engagement and, you know, you starting to attract more of the right people to your feed versus, you know, the other way around. So, and as you can see, people have talked, have gotten really into it. You know, they're saying they absolutely love her. They really, really like the, I guess, the feel of it and they loved how beautiful it was. And then people were just talking about how much they miss her as well. So naturally, what you find is that there's people that are interested in the forests who are watching this post and then people are interested in Vanessa. So any business can do this. Anyone can do this. It is about looking at how you can work with someone, whether it is a local celebr celebrity or whether it is another local business. Could you do a video? Could you talk about each other's products? You know, there's so many different ways of doing it. Ultimately it is about the same thing. It is about collaborating or partnering up to drive more engagement on social media. Now, if I was Forestry England, what I'd want to be doing is engaging in this location. So that was actually in Wendover, which is sort of Aylesbury way, if you like, down south. So if I was these guys, I would go to engagement, go to location, had to go to, say, Aylesbury and then what would start coming up is all of the local businesses that are getting good engagement on social media within the area. So then if I am the, if I'm Forestry England, I would then start coming up in all of these people's posts. So people who are interested in rabbit retail might suddenly be interested in me. People that maybe hadn't thought of, you know, they might go to the local bar, but they hadn't thought about maybe booking to, I don't know, come and visit the forest at the weekend, that sort of thing, or go for a walk in the woods with the dog. So the idea is it's all about coming up to more of the right people in your location. Now, as always, if you've got any questions at all, please click on the little blue button. We love to help.
