How using competitions on social media can boost your engagement

An insurer ran a Father's Day competition where people tagged family members to win a barbecue hamper. The simple mechanic, clear deadline, and inclusive framing (dad, granddad, brother, husband) drove engagement and made participants feel special. The speakers show how to track performance with a dashboard and adapt the template for other holidays.
Foreign.
At how using social media competitions can boost your following and engagement. This is a plan insurers and as you can see, they normally talk about their various insurances and they are generally promoting their products. However, this is a little bit different. You can see they've got a lot more engagement on this.
So this was a really striking image. They win a barbecue Father's Day hamper. They obviously did it for Father's Day. It was a really easy one. So it was like simply tagging the person you want to win this hamper, whether it be your dad, granddad, brother or husband. They were trying to be inclusive. So everybody obviously has a father on Father's Day. So they wanted to make sure that they covered everyone and, and then they gave it a little bit of that kind of fear of missing out by putting that the hareem competition ends 10am on the 16th of June and then they put the T's and C's in there with the link as well. But it's a really, really strong IM and kind of does what it says on the tin if you like. I know exactly what they want me to do off the back of it. It's a really easy mechanic. So again that it's easy for me to do. And asking people to tag in someone they want to win something, it's just a really nice thing to do. It makes you, makes people feel special. So even if they don't win it, it's the fact that you know the, that person's thought of them on that day. So it's really lovely. And I think as you can see that, you know, making use of like a national campaign, making use of, you know, what's going on in the world at the moment using say Father's Day. And anybody could rep. Take this and use it for say Mother's Day or Easter or any other time of the year. Now if I was a planning students, one of the things I'd want to do is to keep on top of my content and make sure that I understood what was working for me and what wasn't. So I would go to maybe Dashboard and the maybe Dashboard. I can compare myself here. So this would be my best post each week. And then I can compare myself directly with any other insurer. So literally I just type it in, I put down the insurer or indeed I could choose anyone within a specific type of sector. So the top performing businesses within a sector.
And what that does is it means that I can constantly compare what I'm doing versus them. I can see my stats versus their stats. I can see, you know, how much engagement I'm getting versus them. I can see what's been said about them, what's been said about me so that again, I can start comparing. And it just means that I gradually get more and more, I guess I get stronger at social media as it develops. Now, as always, if you've got any questions at all, click on the little blue button. We'd love to help.
