How using customer content can optimise your social media

Small businesses can boost social media by posting customer photos, tagging them, and using local hashtags like #shoplocal. The strategy includes searching for nearby businesses by location tag, then liking and replying to their posts to drive cross-traffic and signal authentic engagement.

Today we're looking at how using customer photography can really help support your social media. This is altering a market and they regularly use everyday punters photography to show what people can do in the market and then they also take lovely pictures of their customers as well. It's all about showing how they enjoy themselves and it gives, this approach really gives people a reason to either visit for a bite to eat or browse some of their stores. What I love about this one is it always shows the opening times as well. And it gives a really good array of hashtags associated with shopping, such as shop local and support local. But really what you should always be doing is making sure you use your customers in your images, making sure that you show, I guess, the full length and breadth of what you've got to offer in your local area or within your actual store. And I think again, if you're dog friendly, making sure that you're capturing dogs, if you're child friendly, making sure you're capturing the kids as well, but also keeping on top of your tags. So if you go into your feed, making sure that you're keeping on top of your tags and making sure that you're using some of this content, because if you've been tagged, it means that you know, the customers are much more likely to have enjoyed their time with you. And so you can actually take that content, turn it into your own and make sure you tag the customer in as well. But it just means that you're using some excellent content, showing off what you do. Exactly the same as altering a market. If I was altering a market, what I'd want to be doing is engaging with other businesses in the area so that they can drive more people down to altering and market. Because guess what, if you're visiting altering, you obviously want to visit the market as well. So I would go to Engagement and engage and click on location and then I would type in Altrinchen and then here, just make sure you click on local. And then what you see here is a list of all of the businesses that are getting really good engagement on social media and within that radius. It's absolutely phenomenal because in here what you can do is start clicking to like, you can retweet, you can follow, you can reply, you can schedule and turn it into your own post as well. But basically what it means is, you know, if they've got, you know, 1.2 thousand people that are clicking and getting involved in this conversation, then you want to be someone else that gets involved in that conversation because then suddenly they'll see you. It's like a little digital business card. And they'll suddenly go, oh, I didn't know they were there and want to get back. I would also encourage any of the traders within Alternate market to be doing exactly the same thing as well. Now, if you've got any questions at all, always click on the little blue button. We love to help.
