Repurposing customer content is the best way to drive engagement on social media

Exchange Craft Beer in Bradford reshared a customer video celebrating the city's 2025 Culture announcement, tagging the creator and using hashtags like #Bradford2025. Repurposing authentic customer content builds engagement and frees up time to connect with your community instead of creating everything from scratch.

Today we're with one of Bradford's Green street pioneers, Exchange Craft Beer, and we're looking at how you can repurpose customer content on social media to drive more awareness of what you do. So this is the Exchange Craft Beer House in Bradford. They specialize in all things craft beers, as you can imagine. However, the post that got them loads of really good engagement was actually something a little bit different. This showed the customer recorded everybody celebrating Bradford City of Culture 2025 announcement and they shared it on their feed. Let me just show you. As you can see, people are enjoying themselves down at the Exchange Craft Beer. And what I loved about this is doing this shows of all what an amazing event it was. So clearly everyone was having an absolutely phenomenal time and sometimes when you are working somewhere, you don't really get to capture the event or capture what's going on. So the fact is that people loved it so much that they filmed it, which is amazing. And then it shows that the fact that a customer created it feels really natural and not staged. It's just caught on a phone and it gives insight into what people can expect when they come on down and visit, which, to be fair, is all you would want from a social media post. So I think this customer has clearly created it, tagged them, then they've taken it and reshared it and made sure they've tagged in the customer back, which is amazing. And then put the hashtags, hashtag Bradford2025. So anyone who's following in the City of Culture conversation and then hashtag our time. Yeah, celebrating that it's finally Bradford's time to take over the City of Culture, which is amazing as you can see lots of people commenting and really enjoying themselves. So I think the best thing for me to sort of pull out from this is make sure that you make use of customer tagged content. Because there's no better testimonial, in my humble opinion, than making use of, I guess, you know, if a customer has gone to the, gone to the effort of tagging you, then it's, you know, it shows that, you know that they're happy that they've loved it and, you know, they would want that to be reshared. And the best way of finding that is here, go to your tagged content and then you can see it's anyone else that's tagged you and you can go in and you can share it. Now, if I was Exchange Craft Beer, I'd also want to make sure that I could keep on top of all this kind of stuff. I want to make sure that I have the time to be getting engaged and using the tags and creating new content based on from other people. So what I would do is I would go to the maybe platform and I would go to content and go to Content Calendar because in here I can now look at all of my content. This is all the content that I would have done over the last week. Then look, I can also go in and start scheduling in some new content. So I can do it on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. And it just means that if you know for the week ahead that you've got an event coming up or you've got, I don't know, a new menu coming in or a new beer coming in, they can schedule it all in and then they can use the time that they would normally spend doing a post every day to actually sit there and get engaged. So engage with local businesses, get engaged with customers who previously mentioned them. Take some of the customers old content and repurpose it and make it new. So as you can see, you can go in here and then you just click on which social media channel you want it to be. You start writing, you can tag, you can tag in the customer, you can tag in another business, you can tag in the, the different craft beers that you are working with, for example, and then you can choose to shade it now or you can choose to schedule it in. It's just so, so handy. Now if you have any questions whatsoever, click on the little blue button. We love to help.
