Showing passion and knowledge through social media may sway towards booking

A Pembrokeshire holiday-cottage business can drive bookings by sharing genuine passion for the local area on social media. Post staff insights like a chef's fish-of-the-day or cleaner's tips, use a content calendar to schedule across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and track what competitors post to stay ahead.

Today we're looking at how showing passion and knowledge on social media can build trust. This is a family run local agency offering unforgettable holiday cottages across Wales. The coastal cottages have been helping families plan trips to Pembrokeshire for nearly 40 years and they really know their stuff. Now what they do on social media, as you can see, is really showcase the place as opposed to just the cottage. And how they do that is that they talk with so much passion and so much knowledge about the place. So as you can see here, this is the coast, this is the bay, and here they're talking about why it often comes up on top of the list when they ask their guests where they're heading during their stay. Because it's beautiful and so they're talking about it with real passion and knowledge. And then you can see that they really understand everywh because they probably recommend them to their guests as well. So the guests want to go there because these guys who run the cottages truly understand where they are based and talk with knowledge and skill. So by going into all the detail of the area, it really shows that they know their stuff, builds up trust with the potential person who wants to come before they even book. So this is pivotal. So for me, any business showing their knowledge of their area or their particular business by demonstrating a real passion on media, it's just such a good way of, I guess, enticing people to click the button and to, you know, and to actually book with you. So whether this is your resident chef that's talking about, I don't know, fish of the day or whether it's your cleaner talking about how they get the bathroom to shine. People love seeing people talk about their business and area with passion and knowledge. Now obviously they create lots of lovely content. So if I was them, I would want to be looking at my content calendar on maybe. So I would go to, maybe go to my content and content content calendar. This shows me all of the posts that I've got scheduled across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter over the course of this week. I can also look at previous weeks as well by clicking here and then look, I can also add in posts. So if I think of something else that's come up or I see something else, or a local photographer shared a beautiful picture of a local beach, I would want to be sharing that. So I can click in here and I can actually schedule in the post. The other thing that I can do is I can click here and I can choose any competitor. So it might be, I don't know, a local holiday cottage. Or it might be, I don't know, a holiday business. What I do is I click in here, click there, and then I start to see my competitors. Or indeed, a business that I might be able to, I don't know, take some of the content from and repurpose it and make it my own. And all it is, is here is my content, below is theirs. And it means that I can compare, contrast and understand what's what they're doing versus what we're doing, what times are they posting, how are they posting, when are they, what channels do they use, all that kind of thing. So it just means that I can get much more knowledgeable about my content, what's working, what's not, and compare against my competitors. If you've got any questions whatsoever, click on the little blue button. Love to help.
