In this video, the presenter explains why tagging collaborators and brands on Instagram is a crucial social‑media best practice. Using actress Neve Algar’s recent posts—showcasing a glamorous outfit, an ITV drama promotion, and a BAFTA appearance—the speaker illustrates how she tags the photographer, stylists, makeup artist, and brands like Michael Kors. Tagging serves three main purposes: (1) publicly thanking the people and companies that contributed to the look, (2) increasing the likelihood of reciprocal tags, resharing, and future partnership opportunities, and (3) expanding the post’s reach and engagement because tagged accounts are notified and may interact with the content. The video argues that systematic tagging turns a single beautiful image into a network‑wide promotional tool.

Today, we're looking at the importance of tagging on social media. This is Neve Algar and she spends quite a lot of her sort of Instagram life, if you like, showing lots of behind the scenes of her work. And. And equally she. She's got a new ITV drama that's out and she wants to obviously promote it and she was recently up for going to various awards and things like that. And I guess, like what you can see here with Jenna or general Instagram, it's all very glamorous and beautiful, but she obviously has help getting ready. She has stylists, she has people who support time and it's really important to tag in those people and to tag in any of the brands because guess what? Some of them might want to work with you in future. Some of them might have gifted the dresses, some people might have gifted it to get ready and. Or supported her in getting ready. And it's really important to thank people for that. So here you can see her absolutely stunning outfit. She looks incredible and clearly a beautiful image. And then what she's done is she's put who the photo the photographer was, so she's tagged them in. So again, they're much more likely to tag her back or reshade it. Michael Kors, obviously a famous fashion brand, and then she's put in her styling, who's assisted her, who did the makeup, and she's put anybody else who was involved, she's put that she went to the baftas. So again, that's got her a lot of engagement and people are a lot more likely to reply back to her and to re share her post off the back of the fact that she has tagged them in, whereas obviously before they might not have, because they might not have known that maybe she was wearing that outfit or anything like that. So it is. It's just a really good opportunity to ac. Thank you and B gets more reach and engagement.
