5 Must Try Steakhouses in Las Vegas

In this YouTube episode, hosts Josh and Rachael Fillbrandt draw on three‑and‑a‑half years of Las Vegas travel, during which they visited over 150 eateries and reviewed more than 20 steakhouses, to present a curated list of five "must‑try" steakhouses. They explain that the list is ordered chronologically—from the oldest establishment to the newest—so viewers can appreciate the evolution of Vegas steak culture. Each restaurant is introduced with its opening year, location, notable history (e.g., celebrity patrons, film connections), signature menu items, and ambience, followed by a brief recommendation to make a reservation. After the core five (Golden Steer, Prime Steakhouse at Bellagio, SW Steakhouse at Wynn, Bazaar Meat at Sahara, Barry’s Downtown Prime at Circa), they mention two honorable‑mention spots—Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar and Toca Madera—highlighting their unique concepts. The video closes with a call‑to‑action encouraging viewers to comment on the list, subscribe, and follow the hosts on social media.

Hey everybody, I'm Josh.
And I'm Rachael.
Over the past 3 and a half years, we have brought you along with us on over 20 trips to Las Vegas and featured over 150 restaurants and eateries along the way.
One of our favorite types of restaurants has always been a steakhouse, and Las Vegas has no shortage of amazing ones.
We have done full reviews on over 20 in Las Vegas and have tried over 30 in total during our past trips to Las Vegas.
This doesn't even count the number of times we got steak at a non-steakhouse.
Knowing that it is very hard to pick the right one for your next Las Vegas trip, we wanted to help by narrowing it down to 5 steakhouses we consider must-try.
And we might sneak a couple of our personal favorites in there as well.
So sharpen your knives and get your credit card ready because we're bringing you with us to the best steakhouses in Las Vegas.
Let's go! Because we can't rank these against each other, we will be listing them in order of oldest to newest restaurant. And yes, we do recommend a reservation for all of them.
Let's start from basically the beginning. The Golden Steer Steakhouse, located one block from the Strip on West Sahara, was founded in 1958 and is the oldest continually operating steakhouse in Las Vegas. It is filled with history and stories from the famous celebrities who dine there and the signature leather booths named in their honor, from Frank Sinatra to Marilyn Monroe. The restaurant scenes in the 1995 movie Casino were based on moments from Golden Steer Steakhouse because it was a favorite hangout spot for the mafia back in the day, along with other famous and infamous customers such as Tony the Ant Spilotro, Frank Sinatra, Joe DiMaggio, Elvis Presley, and John Wayne. Today, patrons dine at the Steer to experience fine dining at its most classic core. Tuxedo servers, white tablecloths, Caesar salad tableside, flaming desserts, giant choice baked potatoes, and the most flavorful steak you've ever had.
Opening with the Bellagio in 1998, Prime Steakhouse by acclaimed chef John George is next on the list. The patio overlooking the Fountains of Bellagio is one of the top tables in town when the weather is nice. If you are unable to get a table on the patio, don't fear. The restaurant's elegant dining room provides a respite from the bustling Strip that is just steps away. The classics are all here. Enjoy steakhouse dining at its finest with steak, seafood, and lamb accompanied by fabulous sauces, sides, and meticulously selected wines.
Opening as an original restaurant of the Wynn Resort back in 2005, SW Steakhouse is a must-do. Experience the classic chophouse experience through a modern lens at SW Steakhouse. Expertly charred prime-aged steaks and chops, a curated selection of certified Japanese and domestic Wagyu, Seafood and shellfish, innovative side dishes, and sublime desserts make the SW experience a cut above the rest. Nestled at the edge of the Lake of Dreams, SW offers bird's-eye view of the shimmering lake, pine-top mountains, and coursing waterfall.
Located inside the Sahara Casino on the north end of the Strip since 2014 sits what has been called by many as the best steakhouse in all of Las Vegas, with some lists saying it's one of the best in the world. World-class chef José Andrés brings a Spanish flair to the steakhouse scene in Las Vegas, and we all win because of it. Bazaar Meat has been able to bring together lovers of steak, Spanish cuisine, fine dining, and so much more. Featuring open kitchens including a fire stage with wood grills and rotisseries, the interior is a beautiful setting that transfers you to another world just off the casino floor. Bazaar Meat's menu is extensive, beginning with small plates like cotton candy foie, Build your own caviar cones, beef tartare, and a beefsteak tomato tartare. But the meat is the star, and we think you will love it.
Before we get to the final on our list, here's a couple of our favorites that just missed it. Located in Park MGM since 2017, an acclaimed Chicago classic has arrived in Las Vegas. The atmosphere at Bavette's Steakhouse and Bar may be described as a vintage supper club, as it takes a step back in time with a Roaring '20s speakeasy vibe. Indulge in timeless steakhouse fare, including richly flavorful ribeyes, fresh seafood, traditional side dishes, and house-made desserts. Expect blushing 42-day dry-aged ribeyes, towering seafood platters, and braiser-style dishes bolstered by the likes of roasted bone marrow with red onion jam.
Opening in 2022 is Toca Madera, located at the Shops at Crystals next door to Aria. Toca Madera serves modern Mexican cuisine with a strong focus on pairing its bold flavors with the highest quality sustainable and organic ingredients. Menu diversity remains their hallmark with meticulous attention paid to using high-quality ingredients. Also, one of the best things about Toca Madera is they serve brunch. Toca Madera curated all of the elements of the restaurant to elicit an unmatched sensory experience. From visually stunning design and seductive music to an award-winning menu, let Toca Madera transport you to a world that's both modern and timeless.
And our last must-try steakhouse in Las Vegas Opening in 2020 at Circa, Barry's Downtown Prime is the perfect mix of classic and modern steakhouses. The restaurant design is inspired by old-school Vegas steakhouses, which had a sense of place and timeless appeal. Barry's brings guests back to the classic cool of the '50s and '60s, when great music and sounds of clinking martini glasses filled the air and made everyone feel like a VIP. You can choose from a wide variety of wet or dry-aged steaks to satisfy your craving. What do you think of our list of must-try steakhouses in Las Vegas?
