Is Netflix Bites Good or Just a Gimmick in Las Vegas?

In this YouTube episode, hosts Josh and Rachel, staying at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, explore the newly opened Netflix Bites breakfast and lunch venue. They walk viewers through the menu, noting price ranges from $14 avocado toast to $65 "Eleven's Feast" and highlighting the David Chang‑remixed "Mushu Denver" skillet, a hot‑honey pepperoni "Surfer Boy" pizza, and a cinnamon‑roll style waffle. The duo experiences long wait times—30 to 46 minutes—before the food arrives, and they comment on the lukewarm temperature of the skillet, the under‑seasoned pizza, and the overly sweet waffle. They critique portion sizes, flavor balance, and the novelty factor, concluding that the experience feels more like a gimmick than a worthwhile dining option. The hosts advise viewers that the food did not meet expectations, they likely won’t return, and they encourage subscriptions and social media follows at the end of the video.

Hey everybody, I'm Josh and I'm Rachel, and today we are staying at MGM Grand and there's a new breakfast spot.
Yeah, Netflix Bites.
We're gonna try to see if this is actually good or just a gimmick.
Let's go!
All right, I'm not gonna lie, I did not want to do Netflix Bites.
No, but I, I said it's an option.
Yeah, looking at the menu for breakfast though, I did think that it It might be worthwhile. So here we are, we're staying here. It seems like a good time. Uh, you can see there is some light bites that start around $14 to $18, which is your avocado toast and yogurt. You got a bunch of egg dishes in the $20 to $25 range. You can get a steak and eggs for $34.
The one I'm looking at is the most expensive one on the list, of course.
Mushu dinner. Yeah, that does seem quite interesting. And it's remixed by David Chang, apparently.
Yeah.
Otherwise, you could get this Eleven's Feast. Nothing like Eggo waffles and fried chicken for $65 for breakfast. But I am pretty excited for— there's some cinnamon waffles over here. I thought that there was pizza for breakfast.
Turn it over. I don't know if it's for breakfast. It's like the same menu.
Oh, okay.
I don't know if we can get it right now though.
Okay. Online, I thought that we could get it for breakfast. So if we can, we're going to. Otherwise, You know, the prices are a little bit high, but you kind of expect it with more of a gimmick like this. But it does seem like there's decent breakfast options.
I can't remember what was here before, but it's kind of like a remix menu with a new theme is what I've heard.
I think it took over more of a regular cafe, breakfast cafe, that it served regular food. Yeah, but no exciting theming. Here we go, Netflix bites. Before we go any further, look down at the bottom of your screen and see if you're subscribed. It's totally free and helps us out. The channel features an ever-growing number of hotel reviews, food videos, and experiences through our travels.

Good news is they do serve lunch as well as breakfast. It seems like all the time that they're open. So we did go ahead and get a pizza along with a couple of breakfast items. All right, score one so far for gimmick. Uh, we are 30 minutes from when we got here. We still have our water and that is it.
And that's it.
Yeah, so not the greatest start yet. Let's hope the food hits better than the speed.
All right, so it's now 40 minutes after we arrived and we aren't normally breakfast people, but when we do eat breakfast, it's— we want it fast and we want it hot. So, so far we're slow, right?
But maybe it'll be hot.
But maybe it'll be hot.
Yeah.
I'm a little nervous. Mushu Denver. Yes, that's what it's called.
Food did get here. It is 46 minutes from when we got to the place.
Yeah, mine looks like a skillet. Not too bad, um, but it's served with crepes and some hoisin sauce, so I'm gonna give it a try. There's even potato or tater tots in there, like bacon, sausage, ham. Yep, and Spam.
I know there's Spam in there as well, and then some tater tots, and then it's got these Asian crepes and hoisin That must be the David Chang remix of it.
That's— yeah, that's the piece.
I kind of wish for that size of a skillet they would give more than 4 of those. They look good. Is it hot?
Um, it's warm.
The food?
Yeah, I was making sure the plate wasn't hot as well, but the food is warm. It's edible, so it's fine.
Okay. I mean, you would think that a skillet should be hot.
Yeah, skillet should be hot. Um, there's a bit of spice on there. I think there's jalapeños in there as well. Okay, this is I like the skillet. I'm not sure about the crepes and hoisin sauce idea.
Like, it doesn't really add anything to it? No.
I mean, it's scrambled eggs. It's got some Spam and some ham and some bacon and looks like jalapeños and some red peppers. Sure, it'll be good. And there's cheese in there too, melted, so I'm good with that.
Surfer Boy Pizza. Apparently you can call this number. It's a real number. You can call and sit on hold as long as you'd like. So if you don't want to come to Netflix Bites to do it, just call the number that's on your screen right now. But I ended up going with the pizza. It is hot. Honey and pepperoni. It looks like it's a Detroit style. Looks good, actually.
Yeah, I mean, we like pizza, so that's helpful, and we like hot honey, so that'd be a good start.
There's a nice crisp on the bottom of that. The pepperoni is not as hot as I was kind of hoping. Um, maybe I just need more bites, but the breading, it's— it is a lot of bread, but it's nice and light.
Oh, good.
I do appreciate that. I'm gonna go for one more bite of that.
I do think I think it's interesting that they serve it in a to-go box even though we're eating in. I noticed that from someone else when they— when I was waiting.
Yeah, no, I mean, it's gonna hit the spot. Could I go for a little bit spicier pepperoni? Yeah, especially when it's called like a hot—
Yeah, hot honey. I can't remember what it was called, but it was—
I feel like hot was in the name. Yep. Um, so I definitely think it could be more, more heat, but it's a decent pizza.
Okay.
Yeah.
Now how about this sweet breakfast dessert is what we call it.
So this is like the cinnamon roll waffle.
There is some cream cheese frosting and I think candied pecans on top.
And it looks like they bring— they give you regular syrup as well. I don't know that I'm gonna do that.
I was like, I don't think I would yet.
Yeah, so there's 2 waffles.
They look like thin waffles. They're not like Belgian-style waffles.
No. Although I think they call them Belgian.
Did they? Yeah, Belgian style is that. I think Belgian style is thick, and maybe I'm wrong, but I think they're thick.
It's a good waffle. It is sweet. Uh, it's not, it's not as cinnamon roll as I would like.
Okay.
I take that back. Make sure you get the This brown sauce as well as the cream cheese.
Okay.
I think the outer part was a bit very just a waffle, so you got to make sure you get in those toppings. So it's not like it's a cinnamon roll that's just then pressed into a waffle.
Okay, that's what I was kind of in my head.
I would have preferred, but yeah, it's good. It's a nice sweet element. Um, yeah, that's it. All right, sometimes in Las Vegas you gamble and lose. I think we gambled on Netflix Bites and And we did not feel good about walking out of there.
We lost, and it's safe to say we won't be back.
Yeah, like, so the tough thing is a lot of the flavors just don't hit. Like, when you have like a spicy hot honey pepperoni pizza, you expect flavor. And truth be told, I couldn't distinguish the cheese, the meat, the honey, the sauce.
If there was any honey on it. Yeah, it was interesting. And mine, I would always say like a scramble, you should be able to get all the flavors in one bite. And the size of those vegetables, the way they were cut, you're getting one bite. of vegetables if you didn't do vegetables. And the tater tots I thought were like freezer burned, so I was not impressed.
Yeah, the, the cinnamon waffle, um, I thought was okay. You know, it's very sweet. Yeah, so if you are not interested in super sweet waffles, don't get it. But I would say that was it. It was what it said it was.
Yeah, yeah, I could— I can agree with that. That one actually was what it said it was.
Yeah, and you know, we, we had talked about going off-strip for breakfast this morning. We just, we want to stay at our We didn't feel like going elsewhere, and by the time you pay for an Uber back and forth, $20 to $40 to do it, it probably ends up being about the same price. Unfortunately, the food didn't work for us this time.
A dog just licked my leg.
