Snorkeling in Bonaire Blew Us Away During Our Celebrity Beyond Cruise

In this travel vlog, Josh and Rachael Fillbrandt document a day in Bonaire during their Celebrity Beyond cruise. They recount the challenges of booking a snorkeling excursion with Woodwind, a local catamaran operator, and describe the seamless experience once on board, including gear provision, food, drinks, and the natural beauty of Klein Bonaire. Highlights include spotting a sea turtle and massive schools of fish, as well as enjoying a variety of onboard dining options at the ship’s Normandie restaurant and other venues, with detailed mentions of dishes like baked brie, beef Wellington, pork ribs, and a noodle dish served on the catamaran. The couple also shares evening entertainment on the ship—a Whitney Houston tribute and a magic show—followed by reflections on future cruise plans, additional food finds like pastechi, and practical tips for future travelers on how to book the Woodwind tour, what to expect, and where to find the company’s contact information. The video ends with a call to subscribe, follow on social media, and a teaser for more cruise content.

Good morning!
Good morning!
We are hoping for another magical beach day in Bonaire. First time in Bonaire.
Oh!
But another because yesterday we had a great beach day and great snorkeling in Curaçao.
Yeah!
We did book—
I think I booked an excursion.
We messaged an excursion.
Yeah!
So I had heard of a really good snorkel company who you can only message through Facebook. I messaged them about 4 months ago. They said, yeah, we got room. And then I've really struggled to hear back from them. So So our plan is to go to their booth.
Yeah, hopefully it's right off the beach.
And snorkel with them. If not, yeah, if not, we are going to be doing on our own, but we intend to snorkel today.
That's right.
Yeah, let's go. All right, well, the good news is it looks like the weather is going to be perfect and beautiful, which luckily it has been this entire trip. We are right on the port, like the walking area is tiny. And to my knowledge, we're gonna have to go to those tents over there. I'm not gonna say the name of the company in case this doesn't work out because then I'd feel bad. But hopefully you'll still— you'll get to learn the name of the company because we're gonna Have a good time with with them later today. All right, hiccups. But many hiccups. Yeah, we checked in with the tourist information. They said that we'd have to take a taxi. We're like, "I thought we were supposed to be able to walk there." Ended up finding it on Google Maps. Walked over to it. Our Facebook message—not really inactive. Yeah, they don't really check it. Yeah, but they have spots for us. So Woodwind, we're gonna go with a snorkeling tour. You okay there?
A bug flew on my face.
Uh, we're gonna be snorkeling and this goes till 1 o'clock. And you can see it's very close, so it's not like we walked a long ways. And then we will likely be on that catamaran that has Woodwind on it, it looks like.
Good morning. Good morning. How are you all doing today?
All right, well, we claimed our spot on the rooftop. Yeah, should be a good view, should be interesting.
I'm excited.
Yeah, I'm very excited. All right, well, the good news is they do serve us some beer on our way to the first spot. I don't know this one, Saint-Omer, but it's been around since 1866. Cheers! All right, so we just heard the game plan. They're taking us over to this little island called Klein Bonnay.
Yep, supposed to be some The best snorkeling, and it looks really close, but we're going to the opposite side, so we're about 40 minutes away.
Yep, so just gonna drink the beer and check out some views, and then, uh, it's 2 different stops on Klein Bonaire. We'll do that, eat some more snacks, and then snorkel again for— so should be back on shore by 1. Our all aboard is 3:30 today. They are getting everybody their own masks. They have fins, uh, or you could use your own, but you don't need to. Headed to GoPro mode. See you later. We are geared up.
Ready to go.
And we got noodles.
Yeah. All right, guys. Okay, you go. Me?
Yeah, you go. You record me when you— I jump in.
All right, we are back.
I was gonna say, first we got to give a shout out to Allison.
Yes, Allison is somebody who I work with, uh, back home who has been here before, and she said if you're going to Bonaire, you've got to go Do Woodwind.
Woodwind with Woodwind.
Yeah, and she was right. It started off like we were unsure. I mean, we got on a catamaran and we were just going as slow as possible, and we're like, it's just right over there. And the water taxis can take you there.
Now there's like nothing built up on this island, and it can't be because it is actually a— I believe it's like a natural park.
Yeah, but they do give you food, they give you drinks, they give snacks, and they take you to some— I think it's the best snorkeling I've ever done.
It's got to be very, very close. Yeah, absolutely. And it's not just like a bottle of water. You get anything from water all the way up to rum punch, including beer, wine, and mixed drinks.
We each had 4 beers.
And a rum punch.
And a rum punch. I did not have a rum punch. This one did.
That's because I didn't want cake for dessert.
Yeah.
And they gave us like orange slices and some bread in between snorkeling sessions. They gave us the biggest plate of like lo mein chicken noodles.
Oh, it was delicious.
It was delicious. And like I said, the snorkeling was amazing. The crew was awesome. They supply everything. All you gotta do is really show up with your bathing suit and a credit card or cash.
Yeah, we will leave the link down below because we had been told to contact them through Facebook and they've changed management and it's no longer the best way to contact them. But I did take a picture of all their stuff, so we'll put all of their stuff down below if you're interested in going. Please do not hesitate to do this one because it is well worth it. They work with cruise ships all the time, so they will get you back in time for departure.
Yeah, they said the best way to book is either through email or through their website directly. Apparently I couldn't find their website directly, so that was part of the problem. But thank goodness we were able to find these guys. We just— Rachel had to like log in for her International Day And we just wandered over and said, hey, you got room? And it worked.
And it worked for us. And I'm really, really, really glad it did because it was a perfect day.
Yeah. And we saw a turtle.
We did. It was so cool.
Yeah, the second time we saw— or the second snorkel.
Yeah.
So excited for that.
I can't wait to see the footage from that one.
Yeah. This is something you don't see every day. You can swim and snorkel Right here next to it. All right, when we got back to the ship, we've noticed a bar, so more drinks. Cheers! I ended up with a Bonaire Vice, and I did Coco Loco. Both have coconut, both have alcohol. Rum. Cheers! Cheers! All right, it's the last port day.
So we're gonna do some seafood.
Yeah, seafood and probably order too big of a drink.
We have an hour.
And we can see our cruise ship, so we got an hour to do this. And after this, we just have 2 sea days left, so we could totally rest. So final day, uh, you order a 1.3-liter thing of sangria 1 hour before getting back on the ship, right, Rachael?
Yeah, you just gotta hustle.
Yep.
This is where—
Drink and hustle. Don't worry, we have food, but it's basically just raw. Don't worry, we're professionals. Don't try this at home. Yeah, it looks a lot less daunting now, doesn't it? We'll be fine. Cheers! Cheers! I think I got some sun today.
I think we both did.
We're glossy, glossy and slightly red. And that is really fantastic. The sangria was pretty easy to go down.
Yeah, it did not take much.
No, this is our ceviche, and then a sashimi platter. And then we got to run. Oh, you do have chopsticks.
Yeah.
Look at that.
Pretty good.
Uh, my filming was terrible there, but trust me, she did a good job. That was an excelente day.
Josh doubted the fact that we could do a pitcher of sangria.
We had that pitcher down before the food got there almost.
Like, don't doubt us.
No, it was good. Um, but the beers, rum punch, now that sangria are probably gonna add up.
Do a nap.
Yeah, so we're gonna do a nap, but we are headed back on board Celebrity Beyond. So if you're enjoying this video and you want to see more like it, make sure to check out our channel. We went to all ABC Islands, Panama Canal, and Colombia on this trip, as well as did a big old kind of tour of Celebrity Beyond. Yeah, there'll be more stuff, but I think Bonaire was awesome.
It was perfect.
Loved it.
Me, I did too.
Yeah, we got 2 more sea days to go.
Then we gotta go back to reality.
Yeah, we'll probably bring you along with some stuff tonight because there are like 5 different shows tonight. Celebrity does this weird thing where they just pack everything into one time.
That is weird.
Yeah, so if you want to see that part of it Keep watching. You're good, and you'll get to see how burned we end up after today. Also, we did finally get to try pastechi, which we have been looking for since Aruba and in Curaçao.
It's the dish to eat in Aruba, but we have found it in all three islands. So it was sold out.
Yeah. So it's like an empanada. We had a beef one and a cheese one, and then Rachel put. Too much hot sauce. Holy hot.
It was so hot.
Yeah, but it was delicious. We did get it here at a little marketplace, uh, in the park.
This is what happens when your husband says, I'm gonna pour you a glass of wine before I get in the shower. If you can hear the shower running, there's the bottle of wine out and there's the glass is empty. Thanks, baby.
All right, welcome to Normandie. So you can see, here's the drinks. Um, exclusive starters is turkey terrine— I can't pronounce that— and baked brie. We're gonna get baked brie. Uh, entrees: beef sirloin and kraut, Marmite, some word Pan-seared duck breast. I'm not real good at French, but here's your classic starters and then classic entrees. You can get these across all of the restaurants, but we're— we try to stick to the exclusives as possible. All right, for bread they got us some French roll, pumpernickel breadsticks, as well as a garlic butter and tzatziki.
One of the coolest things we found here on Celebrity is that they have 4 main dining rooms instead of 1 dining room that's 4 levels. There are 4 different dining rooms. We were able to pre-reserve, um, all but 1 on the app, and it was simply because we had ended up buying the 5-night specialty dining package and it was kind of confused. But we were able tonight just to walk up, ask if they had an open reservation. Like, Which we were even aiming— it was like 6:30, which is prime time. We were thinking we'll get one like at 8:30. Nope, she had a table open with a view.
Yeah.
Like, I am stunned by this.
And the sun just went down.
Just went down. Yeah, so we didn't even have to wait, and she was able to cancel our other one that we had on the books for tonight. So I think this is like one of the coolest things we've been able to find on this ship for a main dining room.
This one is Normandy, which is a French-inspired one. So, and they all have different decorations, different styles.
It's really cool. But in different menus, it's just cool. Yeah.
For an appetizer, we both ended up with the baked brie. We had seen this on a ton of other people's vlogs and always knew we had to get it. That looks really good. I'm hoping to capture the oozing out of this brie. So it's like a phyllo dough crust and then just I went with a Caesar salad.
I just needed some freshness for a salad today.
Yeah, and I was going to get a Caesar salad, and then I asked him to describe this one to me, which it was the, uh, second starter, and it talked about crème fraîche and breadcrumbs. And then I— he told me that they have scallops, so it's like a baked dish. I think it looks really good. All right, we got A lot of food here. Uh, this is an extremely hot plate, but I'm gonna turn it for you so you can see this beef and kraut.
Beef Wellington, I think.
Yeah, it looks, looks like Beef Wellington. Yeah. And then the chef's special tonight, which is not a French specialty, but it is pork beef ribs.
It sold me on the sweet potato fries.
Yeah, pork ribs, sweet potato fries, and some corn, corn on the cob.
And then I did the short ribs with a creamy polenta and then a mushroom, pea, and carrot jus.
Yeah, it looks good. It does look good. All right, and for your dessert this evening, you can take a look over this. We are going to skip dessert. We got pretty full after a long day in the sun and a lot of eating.
Yeah, a lot of food today. Yes.
How will I know? How will I know? How will I know if he really loves me? I say I'm with everybody.
Oh my God! I say it. I say it. Okay, Fallon. Uh-huh. Yeah. Fallon, what's your name? The amazing Rachel! Rachel, feel the bag. Yes! Rachel, sign show everybody to this thunderous applause. Thanks everybody to this thunderous applause.
All right, back on the ship.
We got this weird lighting because it's from our mirror. Yeah, but tired. Yeah, we had a Eventful night. You saw dinner. We then went to the casino. We then went to a Whitney Houston show.
It wasn't Whitney Houston. It was a tribute to Whitney Houston.
I was like, wait, did I say the name wrong? A tribute. Yes, of course. That was really good.
It was good.
And then we went to a magic show by the same guy that was last night. Yeah. And Rachel got called up.
It's so awkward. Rachael's awkward and that's okay.
Yeah.
And what, what was your trick?
I had to find the egg in the bag.
Egg in a bag. Yeah. So she had a bag with no egg in it.
Yeah.
And then she cut—
An invisible egg.
Yeah.
And then put it in the bag and it appeared. I don't know how it happened.
How—
I was gonna say, do you know the—
Don't have a clue.
Yeah, this is gonna be a future episode, so just Make sure to subscribe and you'll get to see all the tricks behind it.
You know. And that show was really good though.
He's funny.
Yeah. Yeah. Um, all right, on that note, what was your favorite bite of today?
Mmm, I'm torn between 2. We had a noodle dish on the catamaran that was amazing, and then we had ceviche at that little bar before we got back on the ship. Both were so good.
I agree with both of them, but For some reason, I just loved the noodle dish.
It was so good.
Because it was just—
It just hit the spot.
Yeah, it was right after having a great time snorkeling, and yeah, the noodle dish just hit right.
Yeah, it really did hit the spot.
All right, favorite moment of today?
Mine was snorkeling, in particular seeing that sea turtle.
I thought that was awesome.
That was some amazing snorkeling today.
I am gonna go with snorkeling as well, except for I'm gonna say like Basically the very moment I jumped in. Because—
You did holler back, oh my gosh!
Yeah, like I accidentally— I forgot to turn my camera on for my first jump in. I did record it the second time. So hopefully it looks cool that way, but like you just go from— there's hardly anything even out there. Like it was one of the most boring looking islands ever.
Yeah, and it's part of like some kind of Natural park or something, so they can't do any development on it.
Right.
But it is very boring.
But it's like nothing. It's flat. There's not a tree. There's shrubs. And then you just go underneath and you see this giant depth.
And a whole new world.
Yes, like this just giant hill and amazing drop-off and fish everywhere. And it was like that. Like, it didn't take any time to realize it. A lot of times, you know, when you're walking out from the beach, you're like, okay, when am I gonna see the this stuff. Nope! Instantly! And I thought it was amazing! Alright!
Well, the second jump in too, we had that like— I don't know what that lady called it but that school of fish thing.
Yes!
Go flying past us. That was so cool!
Editing Josh is gonna be putting it under right now or over the top of us. It was nuts! It was just like hundreds, if not thousands of blue fish!
And I know I got them on mine!
Just all racing underneath all of us! It was It was insane.
Yeah, it was pretty cool.
