This is about our podcast, Spontaneous Conversations. Ravi, we are. We have been having these conversations for years and years, so many of them. One such conversation, you suddenly said, rajesh, we need to record these conversations. What prompted you to say that?
Yeah, so what I found, Rajesh, is every time I'm calling you or you're calling me, and we are talking definitely about a particular project that is on our mind, but then very quickly, we kind of drift into a sort of a discovery mode. We end up talking about a book that we have read and how that inspired us and how that might be useful for the context, or we may talk about a very inspiring person we have met. So I found that something valuable was happening, but I was very worried that beyond the two of us, no one else knows that we're having this conversation. So I said, the world should know because we seem to be saying something important. So it was an experiment. I said, let's record it. And you know.
How it evolved into more such conversations.
It's amazing, Ravi. I had disbelief in the concept, but belief in you. But I am glad that I went with your prompt. And we now have more than two dozen episodes. And then when I listen back, I think it was the best decision we made to record this conversation so that we can capture whatever wisdom that came out in those conversations.
Yeah. And one of the things that we actually realized as we were talking right now to the listeners, we actually pick the topic literally a few seconds before we hit the record button. So there is no preparation, because I didn't want us to have the preparation time come in the way of this particular podcast. Because we are both busy entrepreneurs. We mentor a lot of entrepreneurs, we do a lot of speaking. We are both authors. So we wanted to do something that does not require preparation. And what I found was only in conversations does the real wisdom that is trapped in our head, it starts to flow. And I found that in each and every one of our conversations.
I 100% agree with you, Ravi. I had to mention this quote, which is one of my favorite quotes from Susan Scott from the book Fierce Conversations. I'll paraphrase it now. Susan says, given that while there is no guarantee that any single conversation can change the trajectory of your life, career, or business, any single conversation can. What is the conversation that has your name on it?
That's extremely powerful, Rajesh. Every time I hear you say.
Kind of gives me a new meaning to the whole idea of conversations. Because if you look back and we can ask any successful executive, any successful entrepreneur, they will be able to kind of say one or two conversations that changed their life. And it happened to me, and I'm sure it happened to you. So that's where Susan Scott's quote is so powerful. And it is up to each and every one of us to make sure that we are having those conversations in our career and in our life.
Makes a lot of sense, Ravi. I want to welcome our readers, in this case listeners, to listen to these spontaneous conversations and then enjoy the journey. And hopefully they will also have many such conversations in their life and extract more wisdom from their conversations.
Absolutely. And I really hope you enjoy the spontaneity of our conversations. And you are also actively having such insightful conversations with people that you admire, people that you respect, and then experience the magic that Rajesh, you and I have been experiencing and enjoying over the last couple of dozen episodes. And there will be a lot more to come. We don't know what those topics are, but you will get to know through this website and through our announcements. And we plan to have a lot more for you. So do share your feedback and do enjoy the spontaneity behind the spontaneous conversations.
Thank you and welcome.
Thank you.
