Using AI as a first-draft generator shifts your job from writing to reading and editing. You evaluate outputs, iterate on them, and compare against other sources, which sharpens judgment and mirrors how great writers, managers, and investors work.

AI makes you read more. One of the most trenchant insights from a gentleman who recently gave a presentation on switching over to AI-based development is he commented that he writes less now and he reads more with AI. And that is the mechanism by which he communicates with the AI. That makes really a lot of sense to me because when you're working with AI, you're taking more of an editorial or managerial role. You're saying, this is what I'd like you to do, and then you evaluate its output and you are then collaborating to improve that output. A lot of the work the AI just does for you is first draft work. So it really behooves you to read more. And as you read more of what the AI does, it helps you to read more widely so you can be comparing. This actually just elevates you in general in your career. You're going to find that like great writers, the people who are reading even more, great managers, great investors, the people who are reading more of the world around them. And if you start getting in that habit because you're making use of AI, that you automatically become more senior. And this way it guides you towards true north.
