Curiosity beats judgment for learning and growth. A Ted Lasso scene illustrates how paying attention and asking why something works leads to deeper understanding, while judgment just boxes ideas into categories and feels good for a moment.

I find in both business and technology it pays to be curious, not judgmental. This of course is a line I took from Ted Lasso where there's this very famous scene where he is hustling this other guy at darts and tells a story about Walt Whitman, a quote that Walt Whitman never actually said apparently. But the key is that if you are curious, if you pay attention, if you focus on why something works, you will learn so much more about it. You will get close to it and it will become part of you. If judgmental, you are putting distance between you and it. You're trying to put it into a box. You're trying to characterize it so you don't have to think about it anymore. That kind of approach can have a short-term, you know, beneficial emotional feeling, but it doesn't actually promote you, promote your growth, or promote your learning. If you really want to grow and be successful, I encourage you to be curious and not judgmental.
