Claude Code's Max plan costs $100-$200 monthly but offers unlimited tokens, saving one user $3,800. Break large tasks into multiple turns to cut token use, and try Claudia, an open-source GUI wrapper on GitHub that beats using the terminal.
The Claude is an interesting one for that. I mean, there are two things to know about Claude Code that are useful. The first one is Claude has a BYOK version. Claude Code has BYOK, which is probably where you start. But if you get the Max, the more expensive subscription, the $100, $200 one, it comes with unlimited tokens for Claude Code. Which is not—
it's not an unlimited token window, it's an unlimited—
you can do a lot more compute, which puts you in a position like I do it all in one thing, you get to do it through a whole bunch more. Um, uh, I just had a member at StateChange give a presentation this week where he was showing off how, uh, he spent, uh, the equivalent of $4,000 of tokens this month, but just only spent $200 on those tokens on account of having bought them through, uh, having this, uh, Claude, uh, the, the, the, you know, the Anthropic subscription. I thought that was, that was interesting. So, so number one is, as you get more into this, part of it's about the token, part of it's about the number of turns you're doing with it. And, and you don't have to stuff everything in if you can do multiple pieces. You can break it down. And breaking it down Initially, it's like, well, that's even more tokens because it's more expensive. Can you have to reuse the same context window multiple times, ask multiple questions? Well, now you can. You can do it cheaply on account. Second thing just to know about the Claude code that I think makes a difference is Claudia. There is a service, there's an application called Claudia. It's on GitHub, you can download it. That is a GUI wrapper for Claude code. Nice. Code is also otherwise all terminal. Now I'll tell you, as someone who I am myself pretty comfortable on the terminal, but I'm finding that Claudia really makes it much easier to read and understand.
