Avoid couch friends. I think there's a type of friendship that we have with people where it's comfortable hanging on the couch. They like you for who you are. But the problem is you don't want to be who you are. You're trying to grow. You're trying to become something you weren't before. You are trying to make this entrepreneurial business happen. And this leads to some uncomfortable conversations. And what you're going to find is that people who are on the couch with you like you as you are today, and therefore are holding you back from becoming who you're going to become tomorrow, because that means you're not going to be the person you are today anymore. It is an important concept that you need to be thinking about how, where you want to go and be surrounding yourself with the kinds of people and support structures that will allow you to get there, that will help you get there. The people who can lift you up from that couch instead of being comfortable with you on it. That is going to be the way that you're able to make that kind of forward progress. That doesn't mean you can't help those people, but it means that you are not one of them because you're not staying still on the couch. You're up. You have fixed it.
