Expose your market. I suggested in a recent meetup over on NoCodeOps that someone who is new to consulting should knife their competition. And what I meant by that was should be exposing how ridiculous some of the economics of the existing industry is. The idea that you're hiring a bunch of people, maybe not great people, you're charging huge markup on them, and what's the real value of that? And the, as opposed to this, you know, sharp, you know, person who's operating as a solo who can be creating a whole lot of value for their customers in a very short period of time. Now you might think, oh well, but what happens when it's my turn in the barrel and I'm wanting to run a bigger firm? Run it better. Expose what's wrong with your industry and then fix it. Make it better. If you're going to be in the technology business, then you're really in the business of creating change. And change means doing things better, coming up with new mechanisms, technologies, which can be business side as well. So make it better.
