Polished demos open doors but don't generate revenue. What actually drives sales is delivering tangible outcomes: cost savings, revenue generation, or risk mitigation. Founders should focus on proving real value instead of perfecting the pitch.

Go beyond the demo. I've seen a lot of people who focus on making a really good demo and they focus their builds or MVPs and things to be a really good demo, a presentation people will clap at the end like, hey, that was pretty cool. And we'll share that around Twitter and what have you. The trick is the demo isn't the business value and the demo might get you in the door to have initial conversations, but it's not going to make you money. What will is going to be the deliver business value that comes after that. And I actually find that often that's the thing that doesn't lead to a good demo. It's going to be the stuff that didn't happen. It's going to be the quiet bits. And so it's going to be the customer who's saying, hey, this really saved me money, made me money, took risk off the table, whatever. That's going to be the thing that allows you to become much more successful. So I would encourage you, don't worry about making the great demo. Do worry about being able to show your product. Do worry about being able to demonstrate value, but then deliver that value. That's going to be your story.
