Divergent AI work expands small ideas into demo code fast, but convergent work turns those prototypes into finished, shippable products. Tools like Composer in Cursor and Cascade in Windsurf help bridge that gap. Real organizational value comes from mastering convergence, not just exploration.

Look for convergent AI opportunities. I think lots of AI is designed to be divergent, right, where you can take a little bit of idea, and it turns into a whole lot of code. And that can be great for making a quick demo. But is it really going to be that which drives a lot of value for your organization? Because what you need to do is ship. Now, because there's so many tools out there that can like get you started, I think that the, the professional's competitive advantage is going to be starting to identify ways you can get it to finish. I look at tools like, you know, Composer within Cursor or Cascade within Windsurf. And I'm using some others to experiment with to identify opportunities to help bring these things in for a landing. How is it that we can take the divergent outputs and turn them into something convergent that you can then build on, that you can ship, and then you can extend going on in the future? Those techniques are going to be what drive value over the longer term for projects and therefore drive more profit and value.
