Deployment is the most valuable skill in low-code work. It means moving applications into secure, governed environments that large organizations require, and it pays well because few people have these infrastructure skills.
Chapters
The most important technical skills in low-code/no-code will have to do with deployment. It's the ability to take these platforms and take software that we've created on these platforms and put them into an environment that is going to meet the security requirements, that's going to meet the governance requirements, that's going to also meet the scaling requirements, et cetera, that for a given institution, especially for institutions that are no longer trivial in size. This is where you go from being very SASE, and SASE doesn't really have much of a deployment skill set, to being somebody that is connecting to that which is inside the organization, especially as the organization grows or if it's already a large one. That's where the money is because those companies are ones that have enough structure, right? That there is something to be at risk. You need to be good at it and they will value excellence in both the trust they can put into it, the competence that you have in that engagement. And these are the skills that are also much harder to come by. I will tell you, deployment is not easy and those skills don't necessarily translate over to the business side. If you're looking to build a career, I encourage you to look at infrastructure.
