No-code and low-code platforms are changing how agencies work. Instead of outsourcing to engineers, the best agencies now involve clients directly in building, which generates more value and higher rates than the old model of scarce, expensive engineering talent.
Chapters
The world of no-code requires a change in the agency model and the way we think about labor in general on the technical side. It was previously the case that you hire people who can do like the basics of engineering. Those people initially were very expensive, and now we have a bunch of people who are trained up with the basics coming out of boot camps or what have you, and that cost has gone down. But it's also not where the value is anymore because not just the training has gotten wider, but the tooling has gotten a lot better and the customer is able themselves to understand and communicate more directly with technology and how the, and the tools themselves. Agencies and service professionals who are able to engage their customers to make them part of the build process, as opposed to just trying to farm out a little bit to which flavors they can, are going to find they can create a whole lot more value for their customers and also be able to capture more value, which shows up in a higher effective rate. That is the path forward for creating success in the, you know, augmented building space using no-code, low-code tech.
