People with jobs should consider having assistants. If you're going to be at the peak of what you do as like an employee within a firm, then what you really are is a specialist. You are going to be very, very good at like some very specific thing you do, and your company, because you're a bigger company, is going to get lots of leverage on that expertise, and they're going to be able to deliver it over and over and over and over again, right? That's kind of the key idea of being an employee, being a super high-value employee. But to do that, you need to make sure you're doing your one thing, you're not really filled up with everything else. So it really helps when you're considering building your career how you can be removing less valuable activities and focusing just on the few that deliver massive value to your employer. It's not necessarily saying things you absolutely love doing, although I hope it becomes that, but they are going to be things that create a whole lot of value. And as you understand what that is, you're able to help them get more and more returns, and that will then turn into you getting more and more rewards and recognition.
