No-code development is hacking: building on existing platforms instead of from scratch. While traditional developers worry about DevOps and frameworks, no-code lets you skip the foundation and focus on the special sauce that takes a product from 80% to 100%.

To no-code is to hack. It is to make something that never should have been there. It's going outside the boundaries of what traditional technology or traditional domain expert would be able to do. I talk to technologists all the time. They're like, wait, why would I ever build this thing on no-code when I know how to use Laravel or Rails or React or whatever framework they really like to use? And what I realized is that they're talking about building from the ground up. I've had some talk to me about DevOps concerns. And they're talking about like starting from the very, very bottom of the foundation. The really cool thing about no-code is that it gives you this platform that you can just build on top of, and then you're hacking this thing that is mostly built to get yourself from 80 to 100. And that means that the techniques you're going to bring that will make your product extraordinary are also things that are going to be more hacky, more around the edges, more really in the pursuit of different. When you're building your no-code or your low-code project, you're trying to figure out like, what is it that's going to be its special sauce? Focus all your energy there, 'cause that's what makes you a hacker.
