In business, there's no such thing as magic. I think a lot of people look at startups who are raising money, or they look at businesses and say, I don't really understand how this company makes money, but I'm working here and they're doing— I'm doing what I'm told to do. And then they get surprised when layoffs happen and they, you know, they find themselves out on the street. They're like, what happened? I did what I was supposed to. The trick is they didn't understand how they drove value for their company. And probably a lot of people they were working for didn't understand how they were driving value for the company or how the company created value. And that means you should be looking at the question of how the business makes money. It is not magical. It is mechanical. If you invest a bit into how the engine works, you can understand how you drive value for it and also how stable the environment around you is. And by that, by doing that, you'll know that in business, there's no such thing as magic.
