Treat AI like a chop shop that produces raw parts, not finished products. Let it generate code snippets and assets, then assemble them yourself. About 20% of what AI makes is useful; pull that out and combine it with your own work to build something better than AI alone could make.
Chapters
Use AI like a chop shop would. I find that AI can create all sorts of really useful components, and sometimes it knows how to stitch things together, but often it's that compositional level where it sort of loses the plot. So what I find to be most helpful is to use it to create pieces of code, of asset, whatever that I need to fit into my broader framework, and then, and then do more of that assembly myself with some help from AI. But I'm much more in the driver's seat when it comes to the actual compositional process. I find this is really helpful because it allows me to have a beginning, middle, and end to like what the AI needs to create. It gives me more permission to say, hey, the AI did 20% good and 80% bad, and I can make use of that 20% good because it's a piece, right, that goes into my chop shop. And then those assets are then coming together into something that was greater than anything that would have come before. I find I can mix together things I might create, etc., and that just allows me to make a whole lot more value faster.
