3 Most Annoying Openings To A Video That Will Cause Your Viewers To Block You

Richmond Dinh critiques common, attention-killing video openings and lists three types to avoid: (1) the overly excited/tacky greeting, (2) the self-promotional "plugger/preacher" intro, and (3) the slow "waiting for people to join" opener. He illustrates each with mock examples, urges creators to get straight to value, and emphasizes you have roughly three seconds to grab viewers' attention.

I'm going to give you the three most annoying things that you can see when you open a video that makes you either just want to shut down the video, continue scrolling, or maybe even sometimes just block and delete the person. By the way, I am just on my way to the city, going to pick up Penny, and we're going to have a nice date night now. So here's the three things that I see coaches do time and time again. Actually, not just coaches, all content marketers do time and time again when they're doing a video.
And.
And it just makes you cringe and you just want to turn it off. So if this is you or you know someone that's doing this, please stop. This is a rant. A great coach will tell you what you need to hear. A bad coach tells you what you want to hear. So here are the three things. Have you ever watched the video? And the opening starts like this. It says, it's the overly excited person.
That says, happy Friday, everyone. What's up? What's going on? Facebook family.
And you're like, fuck me. Excuse the French. Jeez, just get to the point. My God, you just want to shut off the video. Here's the second one. I call this kind of like the plugger or the preacher. And they open the video like this. Hey, guys, it's Peter from Peter Peter Manifestation Coaching, where coaching is the world's best formula for you. In this video, I'm going to talk about, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And you're like, freaking hell, what a long ass plug. And number two, stop plugging yourself. No one gives a shit about what you do. Just go in and straight away start adding value to your ideal clients. So that's the second one. The third one is, is the one that just completely wastes your time. And so they open the video like this. They do this, they say, hey, guys, I'm just gonna.
Who's jumping on?
Okay, I'm gonna give it a few more minutes for people to jump on. Oh, we got park. That's on. Hey, Jamie, you're on. Cool. Let's give it a few more seconds to see who's online right now and who's online. If you're online, make sure you give a wave. And then 30 seconds goes by like, jeez, get to the point. I ain't gonna watch that shit. Right? So those are the three worst openings that you can do on. If you're doing this, please stop. If you see a coach that's doing this, share this with them. Tell them to stop as well. It's dreadful. Tell them to get threat to the point people on social media. They just want a quick fix and they want to get the content fast. They don't want to waste their first three seconds watching that bullcrap and by here's the thing, you really only have three seconds to grab them and if you don't grab them those three seconds, it is game over anyway. Trust this was valuable and I'll talk to you guys very soon.
