How To Get Your First Paying Client Without Posting Content (Day2/5 of The First Kiss Challenge)

Richmond Dinh leads a live Q&A on day two of his free challenge, helping participants like Art narrow their niche and overcome perfectionism. Key themes: action comes before clarity, people buy connection not perfection, and tiny challenges generate leads.

This video here is going to show you how to get your very first paying client without you needing to post any content, and you don't need any followers. This is day 2 of my 5-day challenge that I'm releasing on YouTube for free. I ran a 5-day challenge for my paying students on how to get their very first paying client. If you missed day 1, go ahead, go into the description. I'll drop the link for day 1 here because it builds the foundation on how to get your very first paying client. Now, if you watch day 1 of my First Kiss Challenge, Awesome. Congratulations. Welcome back. Get your pen and paper out and enjoy day two.
And for day two of the five-day challenge, he is your coach and mentor. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Mr. Richmond Dinh. Let's go.
So, Richmond, you've helped thousands of people.
Richmond over twenty million dollars online. I wanted to share a good friend of mine. His name's Richmond.
Our guest today is Richmond Dinh. We've got none other than Richmond Dinh. Today I have Richmond Dinh. Richmond Dinh, thank you for being on the department.
I've got Richmond Dinh.
What's up?
Today we're joined by Richmond Dinh.
We are here with Richmond Dinh. All the way from Australia. Let's go down under. We got Richmond here today. One of my friends and one of the greats, Richmond Dinh, is in the building today.
The legend, the one and only, Mr. Richmond Dinh.
All right, good morning. Welcome to day 2. Yeah, Sarah's got the moves. I see you, Sarah. Let's go. Love the hat as well. How many of you loved day 1? Show of hands. And who's got some hope, inspiration? Yes, very, very cool. Excellent. And for those of you that thought day 1 was today because it's Monday for you in the States, well, it's, it's Tuesday for us in Australia. So I'll do a very quick recap. And you might be thinking, what's Tony talking about with all these rules about getting kicked out and stuff like that? Yeah, we are holding a very high standard. In this week's challenge, because the easiest thing you can do this week is going to be turning on your camera. Everything else is actually going to be much harder, like sending out that DM, asking for $1,000, pitching your offer for the very first time, getting that lead and not knowing what to do with it. That's a lot harder than turning on your camera. Who would agree? Who would agree? So that's going to be like— so the camera part is the easy part. But thank you yesterday for allowing us to hold you to a high standard. Because And I can see that many of you really appreciated the standard because how many of you— go ahead, type in the chat screen— if you had an environment like this for the next 12 months where the standard was so high, where everyone was pushing each other to do the work, everyone was encouraging each other and supporting each other, and everyone was just going in the direction that you want to go in, how much more likely would you be of succeeding if you were in this environment for the next 12 months? Go ahead, blow up the chat screen.
Yeah, I love it. Donald was straight in there, I think mid-sentence, for you to say like, I couldn't fail. We've got here, Rachel says, yeah. So we've got Billy Joe in the house, 1,000%. Fanny says, 100 million, 1,000%. Yeah, it would be a huge relief.
Oh, I like that.
Yeah, that would be a huge relief, just having a group of people cheering you on, holding you to a high standard. And then we'll finish up here with Catherine who says, Awesome.
Very cool, very cool. So I do wanna thank you guys for particularly the ones where we have the highest standard. I got a lot of messages around thank you, particularly even the ones we kicked out. Some people said, thank you so much for holding us to a high standard. So thank you for that, it means a lot. It tells us that we're doing something right. There were a few, not many, that actually wrote a long email of complaint. Like we said, like a super long email. I'm like, whew, thank God they're not a paying client. Imagine we charged them $97 for something. Imagine what kind of a complaint that would be. Imagine we charged them $1,000.
Imagine they jumped into PointOne We charged him thirty-five thousand.
Wow! That letter of complaint was from a free challenge. So I'm glad that we also saved you guys too because you know you know that saying like the customer's always right. Well, you're right. The customer's always right, but they can be right in someone else's store. Not not our store. Like don't be right here. You be right in someone else's store. Cool. So I'm glad we also saved you and protected community too because we're really. We're really strong on making sure that you guys have an incredible experience, and it comes from making sure that we create the right room for you guys too. So thank you to all of you for allowing us to hold you to a high standard. So give it up for you guys.
Ready?
Alright, so let's recap everything that we did yesterday. So we started out about the first kiss and the reason why you might be stuck because you're sitting in one of these 2 boxes here and most of you were sitting in both. You're either discouraged because you've tried it and it hasn't worked and you're not sure if this is you or it's a vehicle or now you're like, oh my gosh, I don't know what else to do. Or maybe you're overwhelmed because there's so many things to do. I mean, there's Should I jump on a podcast? Should I do this interview? Should I do a webinar? Should I do a training? Should I do VSL content here? Instagram Reels, stories. Ah, I'm stressed. I'm overwhelmed. And in order to get your first kiss, to overcome that, we need to understand how the first kiss ladder works. And so getting your first client involves 5 stages. Number one, deciding who you want to kiss. Yes, you need to decide that because the person that tries to kiss everyone is not going to be very, very successful at all. In fact, you're probably going to get pepper sprayed Multiple times if you're going to try to kiss everyone. Is that fair? And you know what pepper spraying is called in the, in the, um, online space? It's called blocking you. That's what pepper spray is like. If you've been blocked before, or you've been ghosted, or you've been barred, or you've been to jail, basically you're getting pepper sprayed. So that's a sign to say that I don't think I'm— I think I'm trying to kiss too many people. Then you've got to decide what to say and how to say it, more importantly, because your intention, like Tony said, is Everything. And then after that, the timing is also important. Sometimes we lean in too soon, sometimes we don't lean in soon enough, and we friend zone them, and we loop back and realize, oh my gosh, they signed up with someone else, or now it's just gone cold. And then once you get to that part, past all these stages here, you get to the kiss. And the kiss is when they pay you $80 and you're a legit paid coach, or $100, or $500, or $1,000, which was my first client, was $1,000, and it was my cousin. And so that becomes your first kiss. But people choke here because they maybe build up a story that they're not worthy, that how can I collect money from someone when I'm just a beginner? I'm just a newbie. I'm not experienced. Oh my gosh, what if I get found out? What if I don't deliver? All these what-ifs happen. And so you subconsciously self-sabotage. And we scored you guys yesterday on seeing where you are in this ladder here. Some of you guys are here like, I don't even know who I want to serve. That's okay. We're going to cover that today. We're going to get super clear on who you want to bring home so that mommy and daddy can feel proud and say, oh yeah, you should marry that person. And then we're going to decide tomorrow, and tomorrow we're going to decide on what to say and how to say it. On Thursday, I'm going to go through timing, and then we're going to end with the kiss. So that's what the 5 days looks like. And the pathway to doing this, everything you want in your life and business, is all through tiny challenges. This is the way. This is the way to get your first kiss because it removes all the friction, removes all the stress, removes all the overwhelm. You don't need to speak on camera. You don't need to worry about the tech. You don't need to have a following. You don't even need to have any experience. And it weeds out tire kickers. And because of the feedback loop of what made you say no and what would have made you say yes, allows you to convert on average 1 in 3 without you being a sales professional because the conversion is so high because they're high intent, they're highly committed, there's accountability, they get progress they've never had before. And at the end of it, they're like, how much was that? It was only $80. What did you say, $80 a week or $80 for your program? Yeah, it's $80. Sorry, I don't know what I'm doing.
Just—
can you just say yes? Because I'm going to change my mind very soon. So you should feel like you're soliciting yourself the first offer you make to get your first kiss. It should feel like they're getting a 10 times better value. And that's what it should feel like. You shouldn't look back and say, I can't believe I sold that first kiss for $80. But you know what? It's not about the money. Everybody write this down. It's not about the money. It's about the shift in your identity that this is real. Who can feel that? That's what it's about. And so give yourself full permission to sign on that first client that's $80. You know what? Give yourself permission to sign on a $1 client. We should create a competition. Who's the lowest first kiss client in our community? I did it for $1. I did it for 10 cents. I did it for 1 cent. 1 cent, whatever. Don't do that. Don't do that. Jokes aside, jokes aside, it is a legit shift to your identity because you transform from the inside out. You know what would be funny though? And I will talk about this more about how do we handle objections later on on this challenge. But I would guarantee even if you pitched a $1 program, you'll still get the money objection. Isn't it funny? Which tells us it's never about the money.
True.
Who would agree? Like, you would not have a 100% close rate if you start a $1 program. You just won't. You just won't. And this is why Russell Brunson has said that this is the future of marketing in 2025 beyond. That's why almost 10,000 of you have now are proud owners of this book. And we talked about Tracy Clark yesterday. She was actually the very first person to hit 6 figures through Tiny Challenges. When I created Tiny Challenge, I thought, yep, we can get to $10K, we can get $25K, but it wasn't designed to get to 6 figures. She was the very first person about 2 and a half years ago, and since then we've had dozens of our P1s Inner Circles hit 6 figures through Tiny Challenges. And it's been a wild ride, it's been so cool. Not only that, Myron Golden, $700K. Russell Brunson, 2 $100K Tiny Challenges. We've had big influencers running Tiny Challenges and making $100K, $200K per Tiny Challenge. And now this framework is working for all stages of coaches at all levels, whether you're a beginner or super experienced, which is something I didn't intend to have it for. But now we know it works for all levels, disregarding where you are starting out. And then you guys set the intention yesterday, which is beautiful to see. I must admit, you guys looked great. Holding up this award. Looks so good. You guys looked amazing. You guys look incredible. I apologize if I missed your photo, but there was a lot of photos up in the group yesterday. It looked awesome. So if you are just joining us today and you have not yet caught yesterday's replay, you can just— I don't know if you can still upgrade to VIP. Give it a go. Try to get yesterday's replay. But this is one of the first assignments, setting the intention. Remember, it doesn't cost you anything to set intentions, but it does cost you when you don't. And the first thing I do every day is set the intention for the day. That is my first thing. You may call it praying, you may call it grace, you may call it your faith, whatever you call it. I call it setting the intention, whatever you call it, but that's the very first thing I do. Now, we had some questions. I want to firstly address this before we jump into helping out with your niche. Now, if you've already got paying clients and you're like, oh my gosh, I already got my paying client, I want to remind you this First Kiss Challenge is for you if you haven't got a paying client yet, or if you're changing niches and you haven't got a new client in that niche, or if you're open to be open to doing a rebrand or a relaunch of your business. So you know how some shops, they've been open for the last couple of years, but then they do a refurbishment or they do a rebrand or they just change the logo a little bit and just get the rebranding. So If you're open to rebranding, then this will work for you because the strategies I'm going to give you for lead generation are going to be around that theme. And so it's not, it's not going to work for you if you've already got some traction and you're looking for that next client, but it's going to work for a rebrand slash first client in a new niche slash brand new first client. Is this all making sense? So if you're thinking I'm not in any of those categories, you know what, give yourself an early mark. Go have dinner with your wife, your husband, see your mom, call your dad, call your brother, see your friend, spend time with your kids. Do the thing you need to do this week. Just don't need to spend it here. Is that cool for everyone here? Like, just catch up on some relationships that you've been— maybe, you know, maybe you gotta, you know, haven't spoken to someone, something in a while. So just do that. Now, just a quick reminder too, no tire kicker policy. We're going to help you get your first kiss, so just avoid Santa's naughty list. In this room here, cameras on. Now, if your cameras are not on, team will message you in the background saying, hey, notice your camera's not on, you've got 5 minutes to turn it on. And then if it's not on, we'll just Make sure we get you out. So we keep the standard super high and just make sure you do your homework as well. And so on that note, congratulations for those that did the homework. I saw some ones that really stood out. So again, not going to go through every single person's name, but if you see yourself there, well done. Well done for putting your why. It was actually very emotional reading some of them. It was very heartfelt. And for those of you that have not yet done your homework, there was actually one person. Remember I said my job is to get you to the gym? You want— if how long you want to stay there is completely up to you, right? Because the hardest thing is getting to the gym when it comes to working out. But once you're at the gym, you can decide to stay there for 10 minutes, or you can decide to stay for 2 hours. There's one person, I forget your name, you, you said you did the exercise for 2 and a half hours.
Wow.
And it got deep, and it got really deep. And so for those of you that still have not done that exercise, I want to encourage you on something here. This is me. When I say this is me, this is my 5-year-old Carter drawing a picture of me. Obviously, that's the handsome version of me. But why am I sharing that photo? This is Daddy's special box. My kids know what this means. Inside this special box is years of my kids' stuff that they did for drawing of the family, just their drawings, all 3 of them. Got this one here, whatever that is. I laminate them with them. Got this painting here and I keep them. It's sentimental value. I'm a very sentimental guy. And I keep it because it reminds me that authenticity is the key. It reminds me that messy is sexy. It reminds me that you don't need to be perfect to succeed. In fact, write this down, people buy connection over perfection. And if you're trying to be perfect, if you're trying to get ready, if you're trying to get all your ducks in a line up in a row, if you're At home and you want to get that first kiss, but it's been 2 hours and you're late and you're still trying to put on your makeup and do your hair and stuff like that, and it's like, it's good enough, just go, just go. Then you're going to lose all your opportunity. That whole story about it needs to be right, it needs to be perfect, it's not your fault. It's your parenting and cultural conditioning, because when you grew up, when you did something right, they didn't say well done, they said perfect. And so you created this illusion that perfect is a standard when it's not. It's an expectation, and expectations is the fastest way to destroy your life. Standards is the fastest way to improve your life. And so you have a false equivalence of perfectionism as a standard when it's not. And it's not even an expectation that you created, it's what society created upon you that has kept you stuck. And so if you want to sign on more clients, know that they will never buy perfection, ever. In fact, you will distrust someone that seems too perfect. True? How many of you would agree?
Yep.
You will extremely distrust someone. That seems too perfect, but someone that's real and raw and authentic and just them and draws things like this, and it's just, they're just themselves. That's when you sign on clients, especially in the age of AI, where authenticity is going to be your new level of marketing. So why am I sharing this with you? If you're here to learn, stop that. The only way to learn is to move. You learn through moving. And so today we'll figure out your niche, but tomorrow I'm going to give you the what and the how of what to say and how to say it. But I can't do that for you. If I do, then I may as well just get the client. I'll get paid on your behalf. But I don't think you guys want that. No, I don't want that either. This is not about my first kiss. I've already had my first kiss. I've had the first thousand kisses. Jeez, actually, that sounded bad. That sounded really bad. That sounded really bad. You guys know what I mean. You guys know what I mean. So I can't do the work for you. Cool. So if you're up for doing the work, just go ahead, type in doing the work. Doing the work. Doing the work. Doing the work. Doing the work. Go ahead, type it in. Type it in. Type it in.
Load it up. Make it happen. Doing the work. Doing the work. Claire's doing the work. Kerry's doing the work. Courtney is doing the work. Adeline, He's also doing the work.
Very cool, very cool. All right, well, day 2 first kiss challenge starts right now. Let's talk about who you want to kiss, and I'll share a quick story of my first niche, my very first niche, and who that person was. I mentioned it was Paul, my cousin, but I'll share with how that happened. So I remember, like many of you in the room right now, when I started. So my very first coach was Scott Harris, and I paid $25,000 for my very first coaching program. My very first. Get that for a second there. My very first one. I didn't go through all the steps. I didn't go through all the loops because part of me just wanted the best. And I knew that if I just seek out the best, then it's going to get me results faster. But also it was other conditions as well. Like I was a sole provider for my family. Penny was pregnant with our second child, and it was literally like all in for me at that point because I just didn't want to be an optometrist anymore. I felt such a heavy weight upon me when I left optometry because it was almost like I was grieving 10 years in an industry because it's all I knew. And it was 5 years in university, 10 years in optometry, 15 years of my life. Of all I knew. And I was a great optometrist, exceptional to the point where I was the highest paid at one point. And how do you know you're a great optometrist? Because your re-sign rate and your referral rate was higher than everybody else's. I could say I was great, but the amount of people that came back to me was the measurement of how great I was, because people vote with their feet. And so I grieved a lot of letting that go, and I felt like it was such a waste. And my first coach, Scott Harris, said, Richmond, who do you want to coach? And I said, I just want to be a life coach, Scott. I just want to be a life coach. So Richmond, you gotta, you gotta niche down. Who do you want to be a life coach for? Well, I believe I could help everyone, and I truly believe that, and I probably could, but that would be like trying to kiss everyone. That'll be like trying to hit on everyone. And he said, Richmond, you really need to niche down because if you try to, if you try to be something for everyone, you become nothing to no one. And I was very reluctant to niche down because I had stories about, I don't want to exclude people. What if I can't find clients in that niche or it's going to be too small? Or like, you know, I had niche FOMO, the classic niche FOMO. And I didn't listen to his advice for a couple of months, but he kept on telling me to niche down. And then that voice in his— that voice in my head of him saying, Richmond, you gotta niche down. Who you gonna coach? Who you gonna coach? Who you gonna coach? It kept on screaming louder and louder and louder. And one night in the middle of the night, I don't know if you have big ideas in the middle of the night or in the shower or when you're going for a run, but anyone have like these aha moments in those situations? Show of hands if you have those aha moments. That was me. Literally in the middle of the night, and I woke up and I said, oh my goodness, I know who I'm meant to coach. I know it now. And it felt right. It felt aligned. It felt like something handed that to me that I couldn't see before, and I was just ready for it. You see, being an optometrist for 10 years, I had done 20,000 eye tests. And out of those 20,000 eye tests, about 15,000 of them were on what I called the elderly. Remember, I'm in my 20s. Anyone that's over 50 is elderly to me. So, Don't be offended if you're over 50, but for a 20— 22-year-old, 23-year-old guy, you're elderly if you're over 50. You're like old, like you're gonna die soon, like, you know what I'm saying? Anyway, that was me. So, um, when I say that, like, the average patient age I saw was over 60. Between 55 and 65 was the average patient age because most of them had eye problems at that age. And so 15,000 of my eye tests were done on That age group. It was people around 60 plus. And I felt such a heavy weight leaving optometry because it was such a waste, only to realize, oh my gosh, that chapter prepared me for what I'm about to do now. I knew in my heart I'm meant to be life coaching for the elderly.
Wow.
The season I had just done had prepared me the season that I was going into, and it felt so right to the point where I was still on part-time at the time because I was transitioning out slowly. And I interviewed my next 50 elderly patients after the eye test, and I said, hey, I'm being a life coach and I just want to interview you because you might be the person I might be coaching. And so can I ask you questions? I asked them questions about what are the biggest frustrations, what are their pain points, what are the regrets in life, what do they want, what do they achieve, what advice would they give, what problems they have. And I got so much data and it felt so right to me. And plus I had rapport with the elderly. It was great. I knew how to build a great relationship with them and it served me to this point. And so back then Scott Harris said, Richmond, we recommend you take 10 pro bono clients and just test them out. And I said, great, I found my niche, Scott. I'm going to coach the elderly. He's like, wow, congratulations, well done. How did you come to that conclusion? Told him the whole story. And so I said, Scott, I'm going to take on 10 pro bono elderly clients and I'm going to coach them. He's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Richmond. I think that's a valid idea, but I don't think you should do that. I was like, what are you talking about? Well, you probably should take on a few like you, some your age, some a bit younger. Just get a bit of a mix so you get a feel for it. He's like, hang on a sec, Scott, he's the one that told me to niche down. He's the one that kept on banging on the door about niching down. And I finally discovered my niche and it felt so right to me. And then when I tell him I'm gonna do it, he's like, oh, hang tight. And a part of me got pretty pissed off because now you're telling me the opposite. But being the good Asian kid that I was, follow the rules, never talk back to authority. Listen to what your teacher says. I reluctantly listened to him because why would he want to steer me the wrong way? And so being coachable, I listened to Scott and I said to him, okay, I'll listen to you, but I didn't want to. And so I took on 2 pro bonos which were elderly, so 64-year-old and a 67-year-old. Real talk, I actually coached a 64-year-old and a 67-year-old and I coached them for a full 6 weeks and then I took on a few like me. Some Asians, some in the health professional space, two of them my cousins, some younger, like just a mix. And here I'm thinking, this is stupid, this is a waste of time. And you know, after coaching the elderly for the next six weeks, I realized that experience was dreadful and I hated coaching the elderly. That was as a life coach. As a business coach, it's very different, and I couldn't believe it. In fact, I liked coaching everybody else, and here I am. Thinking I had found the perfect niche, only to realize that it wasn't so perfect once I started taking action on it. And the opposite was also true. Here I am thinking, I won't— I don't want to coach that niche, I'm not sure what to do, only to realize that when I started coaching the other niche, then I fell in love with it. And here's the big lesson that I want you all to write down: action precedes clarity all the time. So we're going to help you with your niche, but the only way for it to feel right is for you to actually take action on it first. And if it does not feel right today, it's irrelevant, because the only way for it to feel right is for you to take action on it. And you know the best thing about tiny challenges is that you can do a tiny challenge, one tiny challenge on a niche that feels right to you, and after it, you'll know if it's actually the right one. It won't take you 6 weeks, it won't take you 5 weeks, it won't even take you a month. It'll take you 5 days. And for the one that you think, oh, it could be the right one, you can do a tiny challenge on that one and it won't take you 6 weeks, it won't take you a month, it'll take you 5 days to realize actually I like that niche, I should explore that more. So that's the best thing about tiny challenges. And what's even better, some of you may even get a paying client through that. What if I get a paying client and I realize I don't like the niche? Well, you're allowed to refund them, give them back their $80. You are allowed to refund people if you don't want to coach that niche anymore. What's wrong with that? But at least you proved to yourself that you could get a paying coaching client. Who's following this right now? Right? Not a big deal. Not a big deal. Even if you stuff up your coaching, what if I stuff up? I'm brand new. Just refund them. And? And at least you'll be better off and you preserve the relationship because that first client is not going to make you rich. Why are we hanging on to that money for? That first client is going to shift you inside. Is this all making sense? Is this all— yep, cool. So you're allowed to change your niche. It's not a tattoo. You're allowed to test it out. But here's one of the most important things. You need to only need— you only need to be one chapter ahead. This is a bookmark. And the bookmark you put in your book so you know where you're at. Now, it's useful in a book because you never reread the same chapter. But the problem with a bookmark is most people do not know how to bookmark their life. How many of you know of someone that's been setting the same New Year's resolution multiple years in a row? Who knows of someone like that? You don't have to point to yourself. You don't have to. How many of you know someone that's been trying to lose the same 10 pounds over the last 10 years and it's just that health chapter for the last 10 years? Who knows of someone that's been stuck in the same relationship For the last 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 years? Relationship chapter. Who knows of someone that's stuck in a career chapter in a job that they hate, in a situation they loathe, with a boss that they cannot stand, with all the corporate politics, with the 9 to 5, with driving in peak hour traffic?
Ah.
And they just want out, but they're stuck in the same career chapter for the last 3, 4, 5, 6, 10 years. Who knows of someone like that? Likely, if you started your coaching business and you've been trying to get your first kiss, maybe you've been stuck in the first kiss chapter for the last 3 months, 6 months, 12 months. Because people don't know how to bookmark their life. What's even worse, how many of you have been in a season in your life where you weren't in the same chapter, but you were going backwards? Who's ever gone backwards before? Yep, me too. And Why is this important? Because if you're coaching someone who is a chapter behind you, but they've been in that chapter for 3, 5, 7, 10 years and you're out— go ahead, type in the chat screen, what do you think someone might pay you to get out of that chapter they've been stuck in for the last couple of years, if not 10 years? Go ahead, tell me the chat screen.
Alright, we've got, yeah, Katrina says here anything. Julie Marie says thousands. Kerry says anything. Donald says a lot. Yeah, Linda says whatever it takes.
I like it. Whatever it takes. Imagine they were going backwards. They'd pay even more. You only need to be one chapter ahead of the person you're coaching. When I started out, I had very little authority in the marketplace. In fact, zero. I had no right. If you look at this photo here, this is me in high school, my first year, year 7. I was 12 years old. In an all-boys Christian school, Catholic school. But you'll notice I'm the only Asian kid in my class. I was the biggest underdog. I was picked on every day. You nip, you chong, go back to your own country. Ha ha ha ha. People would scribble all these lines on a piece of paper and say, read it, Richmond, read it, thinking like I could read Chinese or something like that. There was this one kid named Mark and he pushed me and shoved me and tried to pick on me, so I punched back, but I couldn't because I was so small. I didn't hit puberty until I was close to year 12. It was brutal. I was never meant to become successful, but I took that as the reason why I had a right to become successful. And so I studied hard, and the only way I could fight Was to get high school ducks, and that's how I became an achiever. As an optometrist, I had no right to become a life coach. What life experience did I have? I was only 30 when I decided to become a coach, or actually when I wanted to become a coach. What right? I didn't have any life experience. I didn't have any coaching experience. I didn't do any personal development back then. I was literally starting out, no skill set, brand new, no testimonials, didn't know what I was doing, complete imposter as an optometrist. I didn't know how to be on camera, I didn't know how to post content. I had no right to get that first paying client. I had no right to build a 6-figure, then a 7-figure, then an 8-figure business. I had no right. What made it even harder was at the time when I started this, we are going through our own financial problems. I lost a lot of money in the property market. We had downsized, living in a tiny 2-bedroom unit apartment, and the only place I could coach was in my laundry. That picture on the left there was where I did my coaching sessions in the first 6 months. No one knew about it, but I knew that one day this will be my story. And I kept on saying to myself, one day this will be my story. But I had no right. I had no right to charge $2,000, $3,000, $5,000. I had no right to coach people. Because I was just an optometrist. I was an underdog in school. I was coaching from my laundry in a tiny 2-bedroom unit home, and Penny was pregnant with our second child, and we had a 1-year-old. I had no rights. But the only thing that kept me going was that I truly believed that there was one person in the world That needed to hear what I had to share. And that one person was me a year ago, was me 2 years ago, was the former me. There was another version of me out there that needed to hear what I had to share that was a chapter behind, because I figured out that all I needed to do was be one chapter ahead. And if I could help that one person, that, that's all that mattered, and I'll just keep on building from there. Again and again and again and again and again and again and again. One Lego piece at a time, one client at a time, one thousand at a time, one day at a time. And so, I want you to go back to your why. These are some of the things that really stood out to me. On the homework. From Kristen, my deeper reason for wanting to be a coach, I coach because I watched my mother live to 103 and die with her song inside her. Wow. I know what it's like to pursue success that looks good on paper but leaves you feeling empty.
Wow.
Becoming a coach matters to me because I do not want to spend my life learning, preparing, and waiting for the moment when I finally feel ready. I want to become a coach because I believe this is my life's purpose. For more than 20 years, I've invested in my own healing, personal growth, and training. The journey helped me understand my anger, changed my patterns, and carried me from childhood to become a calmer, more emotionally regulated parent. Wow. For her kids. So that being said, let's help you guys identify your niche. I'm going to give you guys a niche prompt. We're going to spend some time doing it. But one thing I want to add to this is Help resolve the story of, but Richmond, tiny challenges won't work for that niche. There's no money in that niche, or they can't pay, or that's too small. Let's put that all on the side. Remember, that's on that line of the club where there's a long line, because the bottom line is Are there people that are successful in that niche right now?
Yep.
If they are, then you need to believe that if they can, I can. More than that, if they can, I can do it better because they've made the mistakes. And if there's no one in a niche, I want to share A story that when Tony and I were at Funnel Hacking Live together about 3, 4 years ago, and I had this big dream to be on that stage. And I hope Tony doesn't mind me sharing this. And Tony knew the dream. Everybody knew the dream. 5,000 people at the event, we're seeing all the speakers come out and he's like, hey, Rich, like, you notice? I don't know if you noticed, but There's no Asian people on that stage. And I thought, hmm, he's right. And I look back at the last couple of years, yeah, actually off the top of my mind, I couldn't think of any Asian people. Basically insinuating like, do you really have a chance, bro? Like, I don't know. I'm not saying like they're a racist company or anything like that, but there's just— there's no Asian person there. And you know the first thing I thought of, and I said to Tony, well, okay, well, I'll be the first then. Then I'll be the first. Even better, even better. And then as we started talking a bit more, he said, oh, actually Peng Joon's been on that stage. Oh, okay, okay, Peng Joon's been on that stage. But I only thought about afterwards, but my first initial thoughts was, well, I'll be the first. And for many of you, you are going to be the first in your family, the first to become an entrepreneur, the first to quit your job, the first to graduate from uni. Maybe some of you have graduated, you're very high degree, you were first, and this is the first time you're doing something. Like many of you will be the first in your family, the first time to break free, the first time to hit 6 figures, the first time to hit $1 million, the first time, the first. Many of you will be the first. And I think that's a really good mindset to go into. Be the first thing. Just be the first. So which niches have we helped coaches in? Qigong, women, autoimmune disease conditions, married women, school-aged kids, introverted professional corporates, learn Chinese, queer Asians, accountants and bookkeepers, business owners with back pain, life coach for Gen Z men, brain fog coach, HR managers, dentists and hygienists.
Yes.
Susan Rosaline actually has hit 7 figures being a hygienist. Does it work for personal trainers? You better believe it. Tyrone Bray is a personal trainer. He's inside Point One, $40K in 6 months working part-time. He was attracting time wasters by trying to do discovery calls, which is the fastest way to attract time wasters. He wanted to find a flexible model where he could work part-time while still running his face-to-face gym. And that's him there sending me a message. Since joining P1 6 months ago, I've managed to add an additional $40,000 USD to revenue in my business. And that's running Tiny Challenges part-time alongside his face-to-face gym. Part-time. $40,000 in 6 months working part-time. How many of you think that will be a really cool result? And many of you may be doing this part-time because you're transitioning and you're still working full-time, which is fine. But having this as additional income, as additional proof that this is all possible for you, that's Tyrone Bray. Does it work for parenting coaching? Richmond, I want to become a parenting coach. We've got a beautiful couple, Nicholas Lu and Cynthia Chen, who are life coaches for parents. They went from $0 to $126K in around about 15 months or so. Check out their story. Well, congratulations. How's the dancing, Cynthia? How's the breakdancing? Actually, you didn't do any dancing. I didn't see you do any dancing at the Christmas party. Or maybe you did and I wasn't there. So, well, how long cracking 6 figures? I think you've been in P1, remind me, like a bit over a year or something like that, or?
Yes, I think it's almost, I think it's about 18 months now.
18 months, very cool. Nice, because in P1 we have the $100K promise. Like, you stay inside P1 until you hit $100K. That's our promise. You don't pay anything extra. Like, we guarantee the results, or you stay in there until— so some people take 6 months like Michael, some people take 18 months, um, whatever timeframe it takes you, because everyone's got different dreams, everyone's got different goals. Some people, they don't want to make $1 million a year. Some people have kids, different responsibilities, all that kind of stuff. So congratulations, 18 months. Um, And you did it as a duo, which is super cool. I'm not sure how many fights you guys have had, maybe none, maybe I'm just assuming things. No, do this niche. No, do this niche. No, I want this niche. No, no, I'm just joking. That aside, I sincerely love you guys and love what you guys are doing for the community as well. So the stage is yours.
Yes. Yeah. So first of all, Richmond, thank you. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to speak here as well. And you know what? This award means a lot to us. And And this award is not a sign that we are ready. It's actually a sign that we actually choose to let go of our suffering. Yeah, because for the longest time, right, I have been suffering. I actually choose to suffer and, you know, I embrace all the 6P like a teddy bear. Yeah, and I'm so grateful for this community here, you know, for yourself, TK, Shane, and also other P1s as well, Kenny, the Unicorns, and all, they all give me the belief. They all give me the belief, and I actually borrow the belief, right, from each and every one of you in the family to really help us let go of our suffering. Yes, so yeah, anything to share?
I mean, in terms of suffering, just give a bit of context. Before joining P1, we actually lost $80,000 USD, lost $80,000 USD, and we had no money to join P1. But we were resourceful enough to do that. And we are still having a corporate 9-to-5 job amongst building this business and no help living away from Singapore, living in Melbourne right now with managing 3 kids under 10, 10, 8, and 4-year-old. So when we saw you in the bootcamp, just like everyone else attending for the first time 18 months ago, we saw similarities like you have 3 children, you are Asian as well, and you make this work. And we were like, how do you get to Arnold Schwarzenegger's house? It's like, wow, it was so intriguing. And we actually were suffering back then, and we just gave ourselves permission, like what this boot camp is about. We gave ourselves permission to trust ourselves, to back ourselves again, to really go for it. And by going for it, it's really all in. Like, the, the, the most tiny challenges I've done is doing Her Locker, where I fit 2 1-hour calls before 8 AM. I bring the kids to school by 9. I work 9 to 5. 5 to 6, I prepare dinner for kids. 6 to 11, I had Tiny Challenge calls every single— almost like that. And it was crazy. It was frustrating. We have the blueprint. Yes, we have whatever it takes, and we have the proximity over here, which is super important. And if we doubt that, Without us saying yes and going all in, making the messy mistakes that we did, we wouldn't have the realization, we wouldn't have the learnings, and we wouldn't own ourselves to the 6 Ps that we all learned today to help us improve and be better. So I really want to thank all of you here who have supported us, who have cheered us on, who like our posts and things like that, and especially Richmond and Tony for giving us the permission to believe that this can work. This can work. And if it can work for us, you know, making costly mistakes and the lifestyles that we have right now, which is pretty messy with the kids and the family, it can work for you too, right? Only when you give yourself permission.
Wow, well said, Nick and Cynthia. Well done. Congratulations. Super proud of you. Ladies and gents, give it up for Nick and Cynthia.
Ready?
Hope you guys were writing down notes because they said some really golden advice in there that might be really relevant and relatable to each and every one of you in the room too. And that's life coaching for parents, and they did it as a couple, as a couple working full-time with 3 young kids, which is pretty inspiring. And so Over six figures in 18 months. Who'd be okay with that? Who'd be okay with that? I mean, it's not like six figures in 60 days or anything like that, but geez, wow! Six figures in 18 months, which is incredible. Does it work for B to B? Richmond, I'm in B to B.
J.
Wagner is a B to B leadership coach for founders and CEOs. He was struggling with webinars. He was actually trying webinars before. The problem with B to B is that. You need to deal with decision makers and getting a decision maker on the on a webinar is very hard unless you run tiny challenges. He also had a young family, wanted a lifestyle business, and he scaled to from sixteen thousand to over hundred eighty k in fifteen months. One superstar's Gila Wagner take cleaner notes from this short clip of his. Because it's very inspiring on how he did it coaching B2B. If you think that you cannot get to $100K through Tiny Challenges in B2B, Gilad is the man that did it through B2B, B2B. So first of all, Gilad, let's take a photo and then, um, I'll hand it over to you and then we'll celebrate together. So Cool. All right. All right, Gilad, massive congratulations. You've been in P1 for— let me change screens actually. You've been in P1 for about a year-ish, something like that?
More than a year.
Yeah. Yeah, more than a bit more than a year. Okay, so about 15 months, 16 months or something like that?
Yeah.
Awesome. So in P1, we have a 6-figure guarantee, meaning that you stay in P1 until you hit 6 figures and you don't pay anything extra until you hit 6 figures. That's our promise. And so if you take a bit more than a year, that's okay. You don't pay extra and you don't get booted out. We have a 6-figure guarantee. And so, uh, and he hit 6 figures in what, 15, 16 months? Which is— who'd be okay with that, by the way? Um, do you want to clarify exactly how much you're on right now? How much have you made?
Right now I'm around $180K.
Whoa, who'd be okay with $180K in about 15, 16 months? Yeah, so it sounds like you crossed this A while ago. Okay, cool. So massive congratulations, Gilad. The stage is yours.
Yeah, first of all, I'm honored to be here, and I'm, I'm, I feel privileged, uh, to, to stand here with you and with all this amazing audience and coaches. And, um, I thought, what value can I bring you? Not to tell you my story, but actually to bring you value. It's not for you, but mainly for the audience which is here. And my story did not start as beautiful as crossing the 100-mile and everything. It was pretty hard and it took me a long time to start creating any sales from the Tiny Challenge. It was like I joined bootcamp in September and it took me, I think, more than 3 months only to get the initial 10 Tiny Challenges. And I got zero sales. And like, I was, I was, I thought like, I can see it works. I can see amazing people is doing it. I can see everybody succeeding. Why don't I succeed? And I tried more and I've even went for another 20, the set, the another batch of 10 tiny challenges and I got zero sales. And then was, I think, January bootcamp face-to-face and Tracy over there, one of the amazing coaches in MP1, she, she in the lunch where everybody was speaking and coaching helping each other. She asked me, why are you new? What's happening? Why are you not succeeding? And she really took me to the corner and understood that I was not all in. And I understand that if I will not be all in, I will never succeed. And I got out of this boot camp saying, all right, I'll be all in. Okay, I have 0 sales out of the 20. I'll do another 20 and I will succeed and another 10 and the 30 tiny changes. And still I got zero, zero sales. And like, I was— I, I, it was so hard. Think about it, more than 6 months. You can see everybody succeed and I'm doing nothing. I'm doing, by the way, I'm trying very hard but not succeeding. And then I remember the one of the coaching sessions I had with Tony. And Tony, because by the way, I had amazing results for the Tiny Challenges but not sales. People were very, very happy. I got a lot of referrals, I got great reviews, but zero sales. And over there, for me, it's like Tony helped me to understand that I'm doing a great fulfillment event, but not sales event. And this was the switch which I understood that you're saying it all the time, but I didn't really got it. The Tiny Challenges are actually sales events, they are not fulfillment events. I was very good in fulfillment, not in sales. And if there's one person in this amazing room which is the master in sales, it's, it's you, Richmond. And, and over there we had for P1 the Sales Mastery workshop, which you really got— gave us, you know, the small nitty-gritty details of what to say on meeting number 1 and then on 4 and then on 5. And it's actually made a big change. So challenges 40 to 60. I started converting 30% for B2B and B2B, it's between $5K to $10K, $15K, $25K. Right now some of my clients are over $40K because things are working and working well. In the last month I had only 6 challenges but 50% of closing rate and more than around $15K of sales. So things are working and so fun to do it. But, but here comes, I think, the, the last thing, because as you said, um, in the— your obligation is to take people to the $100K. And I— and by the way, I went through a year and I did not cross the $100K. So I had another month until I crossed the $100K. And then, like, nobody out of the P1 told me, hey, Gilad, you need to go out because you finished the year and you already got to the $100K. But I felt inconvenient to be there because like, it's like I got it to the 100 and I'm more than a year and what I'm doing now, do I invest again or not? And I went on a marathon. I remember this long drive, 4 and a half hours, um, and at the mountain you see behind me, Mount Cook in New Zealand, 42K of running, 2,300 meters of climb. And I took your vision board masterclass with me. And one question over there struck me when you ask, who are the people that will push you further? Who are the communities? Not only the mentors. All right. Not only the lifestyle I want, the business I want, but do I have the right community to push me forward and to lift me up? And over there, sleeping over there with a group that pushed me to this marathon that I could never do alone. I understand that P1, Or Platz is the place I need to invest in this year. And I think I've never invested so much in myself, never in my life. But I think it's the the highest ROI I have ever because right now things are working and things are moving faster and faster. And and it's and and it is actually fun. It's and I enjoy. And if you compare my life two years ago. After we relocated to New Zealand and I finished the first year of being a husband and a father, full-time care for my kids, trying to make sales with do nothing, then I joined P1 until where I am today. It's like 180 degrees and I'm fully grateful for this community, for this concept, for the Tiny Challenge, which is like Tiny Challenge is the way. But making a sales event and the Eight Warner, the group, which is for me, it's a huge gift. So thank you very much for that. Wow.
Thank you, Gilad. Well said, guys. Give it up for Gilad.
Wow.
Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Inspiring. Yeah. Inspiring. Yeah.
Yeah.
Cool. This, this is a vision board. This is the vision board. You know, what do you want on this vision board? It's ideal family. Let me put on bigger screen for you. Is what's most important, but more importantly, who do I want to spend time with? Who are going to be my mentors? Who's going to be the crowd, my team? What I want. And this big L plate means that I'm always a learner. That I'm a lifelong learner. My goal is not to be perfect in life. It's always to learn and grow, always to learn and grow. And so that's Gilad. And wow, I mean, talk about a guy who never gave up, you know, and it just kept on going. Once it clicked for him, in fact, that $180K came in a period of about 9 months because the first couple of months was no traction for him, but he just never gave up. And dare I say, um, the environment probably really helped him a lot to, to get through that. All right, well, one final part is, does it work for more established coaches? Like I said, Myron Golden, you better believe it for sure.
Really got it.
I said, well, let me see if I can like create an offer that's remotely similar to this. I did it one time, and that one time that I did it It literally made me about $700,000.
Wow.
So, so that being said, the concept that I'm talking about, for those of you want to know, Richmond has created this concept called the Tiny Challenge. But before he starts talking about the Tiny Challenge— So that's from Myron Golden. All right. Well, are you guys ready for the prompt? We're gonna give you some time to do this. And Figure out who do you want to kiss, knowing that it's not a tattoo. You're allowed to change it. One chapter ahead. If no one else is doing it, then I'll be the first. And maybe most importantly, you know what? Action precedes clarity anyway. So it doesn't matter what answer that comes out of this prompt. Action always precedes clarity. Who's following? Yeah, who's following? Cool. So in this prompt, it's going to say, help me niche down to a couple of categories, and it's going to encourage you to be a life coach for someone. If life coaching is your thing, be a life coach for someone, not a life coach for everyone. So the prompt's going to encourage you to niche down to one of these categories here, whether it's age, gender, race, religion, stage of life, hobbies, geography, unique vehicle, industry, But the prompt, I've put it in the prompt here to encourage you to niche down to one of these categories. Like at least be a life coach for men, or be a life coach for women, or be a life coach for Asians, or be a life coach for 60+ elderly, or be a life coach for Christians, or Catholics, or Muslims, or whatever. But at least do it for one of these categories. Does that make sense? Show of hands if that makes sense. So the prompt is going to allow you to niche down to one of these areas here. And so let's give you the prompt and let's see what you come up with. So 2 songs should be plenty for this just to get you started. And then if you've already got it, well, you know what to do. Post it in the group because this is your homework. This will keep you off Santa's list, but more importantly, this is going to move you up the stairway. Like this is going to move you up the stairway. Cool. So, um, and then post it in the group, and once you're done, just type in done. And if we don't have time to finish it off now, at least we started, because my role is not to help you finish everything on these calls. My role is to get you into the gym, and how long you want to stay at the gym is completely up to you. Is that cool for everyone here? So I'm going to give you guys a prompt, give you guys 2 songs. Here is the prompt. Let me remove my face. Just Copy this, like screenshot it and put into your AI and put it in the same thread as yesterday because yesterday it knows your why and it's going to build on your why. It's going to use some context there. Act as the world's best 0.1% business coach. I need help to identify my true niche, exploring what real-life experience I've had and emotional authority. Please ask me questions that help me understand what problem I've solved, what specifically benefit that I help them out with, where do I feel most energized and least drained serving. Help me narrow it down to at least 2 of the following categories: age, gender, race, religion, stage of life, hobbies, geography, unique vehicle. Please ask me one question at a time. Invite— I invite you to go deeper if you need to. And then a simple niche statement in the format of, I help this person overcome this problem so they can have this desire. Make the niche statement a maximum of 15 words. No jargon, no fluff. Be understood by a 12-year-old. Begin with the first question, what problem have I personally solved? So give me a thumbs up in the screen if you guys are clear. Cool. We'll give you guys 2 songs, so that should be around about 7 minutes. We'll come back in about 7 minutes' time. All right, all right, all right. That should be more than enough time for you to get to the gym, lift your first set of weights, maybe your second set, third set, that kind of stuff, and maybe get some sweat going already. All right, go ahead, type in chat screen. Where are you at? What niche are you kind of got down, or where's that kind of first draft on? Go ahead, type in the chat screen.
Yes, mate, I am seeing some sweaty foreheads, that is for sure. Art says he is done. Sarah Kuda has gotten the chat here. Uh, I help creative-minded women business shift the beliefs keeping them stuck in old stories and identities. I like it. Carrie says Still going. That's all right. Hey, you're just getting started at the gym. That's, that's totally cool. Linda White says it's asking me questions. Yeah, absolutely. Good job. It looks like we've got some people who've got it and some people who are still working with it, mate. Very cool.
Very cool. Well, if you've already got it, congratulations. Go ahead, go into the group and post this because this will be the homework that will get you off Santa's naughty list. But also, I want to check it out. But I genuinely go into the group and look at your stuff, and I want to really check it out. And as you guys are doing that, how has today been? What's been the key takeaway? I know you've got plenty of notes. What's been the aha? What's been the distinction? Go ahead, type that in the comments, in the chat screen as well, and then we'll go through some Q&A.
Very nice, very nice. So you might be thinking of your question that you want to ask Richmond from today or yesterday as well. And as you do, also get into the chat screen for me. What have been your key takeaways from today? What has been your key takeaways from today? Paul's got here mentors to leaders. All right, Ian says I like one step at a time. You know what, Ian, I love one step at a time. Uh, Claire's got here getting clarity and feeling hopeful. Love that for you, Claire. Uh, good to hear the examples of the, the B2B when it comes to TCs. Yeah, absolutely. Uh, Kathleen has here, never stop. Connie V's got in the chat here, action precedes clarity. You know what, Connie, only 100% of the time does that actually make sense. Uh, we've got here from, uh, Judy who says, yeah, action precedes clarity, action precedes clarity.
Very cool, mate, very cool.
And did you want to transition to some open court Q&A?
Yeah, let's get your questions out into the chat screen, particularly if you've got any limiting beliefs around Your niche, or around making a decision. What if I decide wrong? Well, I think we've cleared that. If you decide wrong, well, you just change it. Run a tiny challenge. You're all good. It's not a big deal. Around anything, any any nimble. It's like oh my gosh! I'm I'm really good at this and I'm really good at this. I don't know which one to pick. I could do both of them. So if you got that, go ahead, type in the chat screen and then let's get you guys supported.
Very cool. Yeah, type that question out for me. Big capital Q and then just type that into the chat. Chat as well. It'll make sure that the team and I, we can also take all the questions. So if we don't get to all of them today, no worries, we'll get them answered for you in the Facebook group, or we'll address them tomorrow as well. We've got here from Sarah saying people buy connection over perfection. Yeah, and I saw somebody— yeah, it was Ali Burns, here it is— who says that perfection is not a standard. That is the real truth right there. Uh, Rich, we've got one question. It's from, it's from Art. So did you want to bring him up on the main stage here?
Yes, uh, what's, uh, let's bring Art up on the main stage. What's the question?
Well, it's a, it's a question. He's typing it out. He says, uh, it's a question on niche. It's a question on niche.
Let's do it. Yep, get your questions typed out, team, so we, we can make sure we serve you guys. Hey, Rich, what's up, Art?
Hey, buddy, how are you?
Good, yourself? I'm sorry, I didn't type it out.
My question is this. I'm wondering sometimes if I need to go more specific with my niche because it has been helping mid to senior professionals get unstuck and gain clarity. Okay. And it reset it a little bit with the exercise, definitely. But I'm wondering, like, should it be, you know, focused more on men? Should I go into, like, you know what I mean? Like, I'm wondering, is that clear enough, or am I— should I go a little tighter, a little more specific, if that makes sense?
Everybody listen to the question I'm about to ask Art, okay? Because it might be something you're thinking about at the moment, whether or not you got your niche and like, oh, should I niche down even more? What do you secretly want to do? Hmm.
Easy. I want to help people. My origin story, my 20-second origin story is I want to help people who feel like they're successful, but they're not satisfied in their jobs. People who basically feel like they're doing what they have to do because it feels it's right on paper to be in that blue world, so to speak. But not necessarily doing what they're truly passionate about. I literally just had one of my tiny challenges, and I said to the kid on camera, "You don't look happy," and he said, "You know what? I feel like I need to do this because it's a trade-off to be able to do this so I could go on the trips with my girlfriend and do this, this, and this." And I said, "Well, what if you can have both?" That's what I want to help because that's where I've been, and that's what I know I can help people with.
Whoo!
Did you guys feel that, by the way? He said it straight away. I already know. Yeah. So the next question is, Art, what would you be most afraid of happening if you were to fully commit to that?
Afraid of? Nothing.
We have our answer, ladies and gentlemen. Give it up for Art.
Ready?
All of you, I truly believe all of you already know the answer. I truly believe all of you already know the answer to your question. You just need to give yourself permission, permission to say yes. Is that a fair statement?
Yeah.
Very cool. Very cool. You know what? That was a beautiful spot. And yeah, I see Tony, you're nodding. Who doesn't like an early mark from— not from the gym, but from these calls here? Who doesn't like an early mark? Has this been a valuable call for everyone here? Show of hands. Yep. Yep. I know there's more questions, but I think this is really beautiful energy to leave where this call is at. So with that being said, TK, over to you to wrap up this That's cool. All right, well, I trust that day 2 was awesome. Well, it must be if you watched it all the way to the end this far here.
